Each server is 2.53GHz Dual Core (Core2) Xeon, 3GB Ram on dedicated 100mbit connections.

Spoken like a true idiot. If you’ve never used it how the fuck do you know how fast or slow it is? I’m with #68. With Usenet, everything comes as fast as your download speed allows. Fuck seedboxes, fuck server farms, fuck private tracker losers. Real shares dont care who they share with or who downloads their stuff or even wether they share back, only egotists care about that shit. I can upload stuff to Usenet once and thats the end of it. Anyone can download it as fast as they like without hearing the persistant whining of your average private tracker slave about seeding or ratio or donations.

any company which is renting you space/etc on a box will know which user is the one causing the traffic, as i seriously doubt it is 1 person per box.

its no safer then running torrents at home, imo. they are as likely to rat you out as your isp i’ll bet.

I max my 24mb connection continuously and get full hd rips in hours fool.. dont speak what you have no idea about

no magic to it dude:

1. host the tracker in a country where bittorrent is legal and is not persecuted by the courts or big business
2. run a public tracker that does not log member uploads nor downloads and does not keep server logs
3. the admin does not get involved with supplying content for the site
4. inform members of geographical risks associated with filesharing and best methods for trouble avoidance
5. moderate the torrent index to ensure quality control of content removing fakes, phishes, dangerous content
6. inform members of the top traps set by anti-p2p agencies
7. moderate the membership to keep the anti-p2p shills and their games off-site
8. ban anti-p2p trackers from the index

USENET is from the 1980s. To download from USENET prolly takes one weak for a pirated movie.

When the anti-P2Ps eventually get caught and put on IP blocklists, the end result is that the entire range of IP addresses owned by that provider will be permanently blocked.

So before you pay your money, check to see if that seedbox provider’s IP range is on any blocklists.

People need to learn about security before you can critisize anything… Plus most people here are complaining about downloading, this is only meant for the people who want to seed on private trackers really, but mosts sites do not allow the content anyways!

I don’t really need a Gigabyte-in-minutes machine, just one, which has the power and space, to massively download, and extremely upload (especially the latter, and preferably non-antiP2P tracked) stuff for me and friends…

Also the concern over confidentiality would keep me away. Who’s to say they wouldn’t roll over on you if they came under enough pressure.
