ps I always seed all my DLs until the leechers drop right down. Or until I have to delete the whole file to gain some storage space back.

Example – Karma point system, give you seeder bonus points that you trade for upload credit.

2, Torrents do not die after 2 weeks.
They are deleted after 4 weeks or 672 hours if the torrent is classified as dead ( no seeds or leechers )

Most sites ask you to seed back to a ratio od 1-1 or 72 hrs.

This is to ensure that a torrent is well seeded and can offer a faster download speed because there are many seeders.

1.Create new email account just for new private tracker account
2.Change your ip by disconnecting wait a few minutes, reconnect, if you have static ip you SOL.
3.Clear browser cache out, I do this in between sites in case a sight has been hacked so they can’t steal login info from site you just came from, don’t wait all the way til you close your browser or you could get got.

187, your an idiot, most sites now are “invite only” So it is not that easy just to create a new email plus refresh your ISP, it will take sometime before someone invites you again. Plus you are a failure to the privite communities.

1. If the site allows user uploads, upload NEW torrents! This is the fastest way to get a high ratio. If it’s a music site upload v0 and flac rips. If you don’t have the cd, download flac rips and if there isn’t one yet convert it and upload it as a v0. The more popular the album the better.

Usually it’s better than this. For established torrents S:L ratio is about 1:10, which is more than enough if you remember that leechers aren’t all at 0%, so most of them can upload as well.

Personally I have nothing against public trackers, but let’s face it – it’s no fun to upload to them. You make a torrent and start seeding, what’ll you get after sitting on the torrent for a week? Eighter 100+ leechers while you’re still the only seeder or (and that’s even worse) 2-3 seeders beside you with several dozen downloaders, while the torrent has been snatched like 20 times. The ratio system on private sites *motivates*, those downloading have a reason to seed back, the only thing keeping people seeding on public places is their concious which, obviosly, ain’t making too much noise by such a thing as pirated movies ;)

True, however with most P2P clients, it’s not possible to download without uploading as well. Even if you only have a small portion of the file, you’re still listed as one of the sources for that file and that’s enough to get you busted for distribution of copyrighted material.

Maybe so, but there have been many times that I have seen “peers” (people who don’t have a complete copy of the file) referred to as “leeches”.

Most torrents from MovieX give me the error message “Leeching forbidden! You are only allowed to seed.”
