Very nice article, thank you! However, if you don't want
your internet connection to be slow and expensive you should compare all
opportunities that all the internet service companies offer you. As you can
guess it's not easy at all - it will cost you much time. But there is easier
way - to use a specialized website that provides such services. I suggest you
to look at http://www.bestcheapinternet.com/ where you can compare all offers
and choose the cheapest(best) one for you!

[…] The settlement approach is a bigger stick than the standard warnings and according to Rightscorp it’s superior to the six-strikes scheme. And there’s more. The company also wants Internet providers to disconnect subscribers whose accounts are repeatedly found sharing copyrighted works. Source: TorrentFreak […]

I sent that article to my kid at IBM Global Services and he replied:

Hi,
This is very old news. It only works with WPS enabled. And
that is because the home router folks are idiots and can't do basic security.
I didn't like the fact the router you bought has WPS enabled and you are using
it. [We use a Belkin with WPA2 enabled] But you are also in the middle of nowhere. And it is extremely unlikely
someone will come by you and try to break into your router. The other bad thing
is not all companies even allow you to disable WPS.

I STILL don't get how the fuck this is the problem of the ISPs? If someone uses, say, a toyota in a bank robbery, no one goes after toyota, do they? They'd be laughed out of court. So WTF is it the ISP's problems?

This scenario is like buying a new car. You think it has/ does everything you want, but then you realize from the dealership placed some chip that keeps the speed down, to the state ( and every other authority) telling you when and where to drive. There are all these freaking rules, violations and regulations one can incur. But, does that stop the dealerships (ergo providers) from making them shinier and more expensive every year. If they want us to bus it everywhere, just put us in the damn bus.

I'm with Horry Telephone Co-Op here in Myrtle Beach, SC, and I got my first phone call over copy right infringement back on July 2, and was told over my infraction that occured on June 27. They said the next time, I would be DC'd from service and would have to pay a reconnect fee. So, I went with VPN service through IPVanish. I don't D/L much, but I seriously hope my VPN does its job and HTC, or anyone else can't monitor my downloads.
