Except for BBC content; BBC offers an online subscription service for the Eurozone, but not elsewhere. Also, only some stuff has legal alternatives here in USA. Most of the subscription networks don’t (see The Oatmeal’s comic about trying to watch Game of Thrones for an example), and only *some* broadcast network content is available online through ad-supported or subscription services. For some reason the industry still values Nielsen ratings over directly-measured views as are possible with online content.
