Remember that the first internet transmission ever, was based on a satellite transmissions were back in 1977 across the Atlantic Ocean.
In the 21st Century we now have WIFI but amateur radio is still alive and well and actually transmitting IP based packet data. Given that ISP’s are now cutting people off without due process in relation to their thinly worded service contracts, we may all end up going back to a global Internet Radio network that works much like today’s torrent networks.
Just as people are discovering that DIGITAL over the air Television makes cable and satellite suck, we may all end participating in a global radio based Free INTERNET.

You know what a couch potato is?
Yeah, a person who gets overweight and unhealthy watching too much Star Trek, yeah?

Well you read it here on TF first guys.

A “parliamentary pouch potato” is someone who gets a fat pouch by accepting money or other gratuities in return for making new law in their legislature.

So I guess an ordinary “pouch potato” is someone who accepts a bribe or other incentive for doing an action they wouldn’t otherwise have done.

But I’m open to tweaking of the definition if it’s an improvement heheh.

What cracks me up, is these MAFIAA asswipes are using the money we gave them to attack us and to thwart progress = massive fecken FAIL guys d’oh!!!

In 2011 don’t buy music or movies made by the MAFIAA.

I agree 100%, but would respectfully add that we should continue to buy from or donate to those up-and-coming indies that are creating the music, movies and games etc that we decide is worth paying for.

Because the artistes and creators who have turned their back on the MAFIAA and are the very people who will shape our cultural future, and it’s only fair that if we like what they’ve done, they get recognition for it (preferably through money while that still exists).

The problem is the poor can’t pay them cash but only show support via spreading ‘the word’ and the artistes work for free. That’s why this New World Order of filesharing will stay successful and will not be legislated away by some greedy old men and their parliamentary pouch-potatoes.

if there wasnt for the torrents, I’ll had never hear the names of the most movies and musicians out there. torrents are such a big advertising for them. and these shitty companies have so much money … greedy bastards.

If they didnt tried so bad to shutdown every torrent tracker I would buy stuff. But now … even if (and thats impossible) every tracker shuts down, I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING. Better to live without movies and music than to give them money.

I remember a time when lots of nice people met face to face and shared their bounty while thinking great things about the old CIA web and the future of sharing and caring.

If gestopo or stapo manage to gain total net control, I hope we all meet again in the real world with lots of terrabytes and real smiling faces ;-)
