I have to admit I agree with Razza here that the movie as a whole is average. The Russian guy killed it in that role and the guys from the Crow and L.A. Confidential were there to try and give the movie credibility, but other than that it was slow and stagnant in a lot of areas. Lighting might have been good but I don’t remember a time when I ever went to see a movie for the lighting. The whole idea of putting this on a bittorrent site and expecting to make a bunch of money is eerily reminiscent of those monks in the airport who would give you a copy of their book then expect you to pay for it. You know people bittorrent stuff to not pay for it then you get pissed when they don’t pay for it. That sounds naive at best. “Payment” in this community comes in the form of sharing and seeding your downloads for others. If this is how you were planning on making your fortune you might need to reconsider some strategy. So if you really liked it and want to donate, that’s fine but don’t try to guilt those that disagree into paying for free art they didn’t like.

This story is now 3 days old. Here is what we know:

1.) Most of the people on this site are crazy.
2.) Despite that they love this movie.
3.) And many are willing to pay to see it in the theater.
4.) Except the one ass monkey who thinks Star Trek films are better.
5.) And if we all collectively donated 1 dollar these filmmakers could make more movies.
6.) Which means more filmmakers would copy them.
7.) Which would lead to some good movies, many awful movies and a few excellent films.
8.) Giving us the power to determine which artists succeed or fail.
9.) And not corporations.

Wow. That’s actually mindblowing. Anyone going to DO something about it?

Everything about the first part of ALPFD is very amazing. I’ve already watched it 3 times and dying for the rest. I really dig the cinematography and extreme realism. I’ll keep preaching the word and can’t wait to see the rest.
