since i’m a n00b, the linux version doesn’t apply. it’s far too complicated to get alliencep2p to work on ubuntu (hardy heron).

good job!
I’m always overjoyed to see people building new additions to the world of p2p – so much fun AND so cool !!!

Personally, I’m looking more for p2p than for f2f – plausible deniability, and when you minimize the amount of contact between yourself and others + the technical data you have to swap (passwords etc.) you minimize the chances of compromising yourself and your partners.

But, centralized components of a p2p network are dinosaur relics that will doom a network to extinction, so I’m really impressed by the decentralization of the Alliance network!

For daily life, I’d like to stick with something simple and decentralized (like gnutella), and I hope for a new network that is also secure, encryped, and anonymous (like unmentionable networks).

For matters which required real security though, f2f would be my first choice by far; I can see this thing as having a lot of legitimate applications even in the business world!

R2, has someone pissed into your skull? You think it’s secure because some sniffer cannot identify/decode it? Do not ever trust anyone who claims this or that is “secure” because he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Thats great, i’v tested this app on beta, and the GUI was really slow.
This software is good, people who talks bad about java, give a try.
Try first!
I’ll use this with my friends :)
It’s a true secure software, try running sniffers and see what you get..

Everyone go View > Options, click the Security & System tray tab and uncheck “Connection codes I make can only be used once” and than post an invite code as a comment.

Whats the difference between something like this and “Waste” as I seem to have missed that completely, and may have served as a decent counter point to the program reviewed in terms of features or lack of them.
