Every time I think copywrong can't get more absurd, it finds a way to get crazier.

I don't understand how they have the legal grounds to even try this shit. These are user created, and not their IP. Nothing was even pirated here.
Whats next, trying to sue somebody who tells you what that guy in a
movie said, because "we own those words, they were in our movie? Fuck
this shit.

Trying to stop information sharing on the Internet with a bunch of lawyers wielding lawsuits, is like trying to stop an avalanche with a line of people wielding shovels. It's stupid. They may get a shovelful or two (shovelfuls are individual information sharers; caught against all odds), but the avalanche (that's the information in free motion) will move on, and grind them to pieces (the industry, mangled wretch that it's doomed by it's own foolishness to become).

When an avalanche is coming towards you, you move to the side. What you don't do is trying to fight it. There are no shovels big enough, and if there were, they would be impossible to wield without doing catastrophic harm to your surroundings (that's our civilization, the poor thing).

Here's what you do, if you want to have some control of an avalanche: You build channels and dikes that don't try to stop it, but which divert the avalanche in the direction you want it. There are limits to how much it can be diverted before it overflows the channels and breaks the tikes, though.

Now that I've ground that analogy completely too pieces, I'll move on:

It's the same thing with information: Make a business out of getting it where people want it. Help people enjoy your products, rather than try to prevent them. Make the chaos of the information easier to navigate, access, and use. If you can afford all those lawyers, odds are that you can afford a service that can provide competitive quality to what the file sharing community offers.

So far, I haven't seen an industry site that can hold a candle to what's offered in the file sharing community. Good torrenting sites give a service with a minimum of easily navigated clicks, no chaos of scripts and cookies (try getting anywhere with a script blocker; you'll spend an hour figuring out what exceptions are needed), no getting stopped mid-process because your IP address is wrong, which results in a product of high quality and no lag, to be enjoyed at your convenience.

This is provided by non-commercial sites, run by volunteers, while the industry can't bring themselves to offer any distribution service of any quality. Their focus is getting the money, not on providing a product or service. They've gone to extremes like selling "products" that won't play on the customer's equipment. There's a word for that. It's "fraud". Interestingly, this was before file sharing "took off". It was the breaking point for me, when it comes to respecting their rights, and by the growth of file sharing since, I suspect for many others. If they want a one way street, fine. We'll see which way the flow will go, won't we?

The fact that they can't connect the dots between {providing something} --> {getting payed}, demonstrates either phenomenal arrogance, or phenomenal incompetence. Or both.

You really should not use the word "Intelligent" when referring to BREIN.
Might I suggest a few replacement words?
Idiotic
Indolent
Irritating
Insufferable
Irrational
Irrelevant (So many people use this word, the excuse that it's not a word is pretty weak.)
Insiped
Ignorant
Insane
Illiterate
Invalid
and Irksome

Feel free to add more to the list. :P
