The cloud exists on physical computers. What I meant is that you can’t run a server for a torrent site in your garage because you’ll get instabusted and raided, but if you run in on servers elsewhere, and servers that don’t know you are running it, then it is a lot harder for the police to find you.

The cloud is just a term used to indicate that a program is linking files on a server (or spanned across many) and files accessed by a different machine.

That wasn’t really a direct reply to you, md, just a convenient time to complain about the way the phrase gets thrown around.
