This is already going on with Tmobile.
I have received text messages and account alerts for using my unlimited data plan with an extra 2.5 GB allotment to share my data as a Hot Spot.
I use Bit Torrent to download all my research materials from GNU,Apache,Creative Commons licensed Software and or documentation.
It's disgusting that while studying for my Certification of Various Technologies such as Red Hat, Cisco, and IBM, I have to constantly be pissed of because I'm watching the abuse of ownership on Tmobiles behalf. Anyone with a similar Data plan, can attest to my complaint, or at the very least ,empathize as to my concerns regarding my privacy whilst studying. The internet isn't owned by anyone! The method of transport (spectrum) which Tmobile proudly flaunts to the American Consumer, is "extraordinary" is laughable. Extraordinary in the sense that Law Enforcement, and Advertisers have had a field day, with the huge opening our elected government officials and the FCC, with regards to the monitoring of our Data.
It's a lose/lose battle for the consumer at this point. For one , Android sales continue to rise despite all the privacy issues, and most consumers aren't knowledgeable in many technologies being used in current smartphones.
