aXXo Temporarily Stops Releasing DVDrips
Written by Ernesto on November 28, 2007The popular DVD ripper aXXo is a BitTorrent cult figure, despised by some, worshiped by others. An estimated one million people download aXXo’s rips every month and his name is among the most searched keywords on all BitTorrent sites. Not surprisingly, rumors start to spread when there is no official aXXo release for a while.
The last official aXXo torrent was uploaded November 11, after that is has been awfully quiet. So what happened, did he get caught, is he tired of releasing DVDrips, did he have an accident? It turns out that aXXo is not gone for good, he just decided to take a break.
ADL 242, an administrator on Darkside RG, the official home of aXXo explains: “aXXo told us that he has decided to take a break, so you will not see new aXXo torrents anywhere for a while. Please show your support by keeping his torrents alive until he comes back, as always, he will post here first when he does.”
This is not the first time that aXXo has taken some time off. Last year aXXo temporarily stopped uploading movies because a website named axxotorrents.com was trying to profit from his name. A few weeks after that the site went down and aXXo continued releasing DVDrips.
Earlier this month aXXo caused a stir when he deleted all his torrents from The Pirate Bay website. Apparently aXXo wasn’t very happy with the way The Pirate Bay handled his complaints, and decided to not release his torrents there anymore.
Unfortunately, aXXo’s popularity has downsides too. We’ve seen that anti-piracy organizations use his name to trap people into downloading fake files, and malware peddlers use the aXXo brand to spread their infested software.
At this point is is not clear how long aXXo will be inactive, his fans can only pray, and hope the he will return soon.

Look Axxo is very talented he is one of few than can make “good” quality movies to fit on one single disk no it doesn’t have the best picture or sound but hey i can also fit 4-5 on one disk or an entire on on one cd i have no complaints about that at all… the color and quality is good enough what else do you need its a free movie so why does everyone talk shit because they have a small dick and have the need to be better than everyone else by having better quality movies? well i can see every detail in mine and am just happy plus its ALWAYS like a 30 min download no complaints from me so i take a 8 out of 10 quality movie with a 30 min download and multiple on 1 disk than a 3 hour download of the same movie with not even noticeable UNLESS being side by side differences where it’s going to cost me alot more to burn
IDK how some of you downloaders can say shit about axxo. the video quality is fine. i watch it fullscreen and the quality difference doesnt matter at all. plus, the 700mb file size is perfect. if you honestly think “this is too low of quality” when you first start watching the movie then you srsly need to rethink this. its free, but illegal material. you don’t pay for it, yet you complain that it’s not good enough. anyone who thinks piracy is bad or that axxo is bad, you need to look at society and actualy think about this shit. we are paying money to see movies. this money goes to the overindulged record and production companies, who then pay the overindulged artists and actors. even with piracy, they still live over indulged lives. its not hurting them, and millions of dollars are being wasted by them on nothing, along with record companies, who pay millions to antipiracy companies to trick people and set up fake shit. its all a waste of time. no matter what, no matter how much is done against piracy, we will fight back. piracy will never die as long as we live. not even if there is no internet. (before you say anything think about it).

I usually look for aXXo releases first, then move on to others if i can’t find one. Drives my man crazy. He only downloads from newsgroups. I glanced through many of the posts, and often saw people advising others to look for “real scene” releases. This may sound dumb, but how does a person identify a “real scene” release? Is the torrent labeled in some way? Is there a list of “real scene releasers”? Or, is this just learned through trial and error?
