aXXo Temporarily Stops Releasing DVDrips
Written by Ernesto on November 28, 2007The popular DVD ripper aXXo is a BitTorrent cult figure, despised by some, worshiped by others. An estimated one million people download aXXo’s rips every month and his name is among the most searched keywords on all BitTorrent sites. Not surprisingly, rumors start to spread when there is no official aXXo release for a while.
The last official aXXo torrent was uploaded November 11, after that is has been awfully quiet. So what happened, did he get caught, is he tired of releasing DVDrips, did he have an accident? It turns out that aXXo is not gone for good, he just decided to take a break.
ADL 242, an administrator on Darkside RG, the official home of aXXo explains: “aXXo told us that he has decided to take a break, so you will not see new aXXo torrents anywhere for a while. Please show your support by keeping his torrents alive until he comes back, as always, he will post here first when he does.”
This is not the first time that aXXo has taken some time off. Last year aXXo temporarily stopped uploading movies because a website named axxotorrents.com was trying to profit from his name. A few weeks after that the site went down and aXXo continued releasing DVDrips.
Earlier this month aXXo caused a stir when he deleted all his torrents from The Pirate Bay website. Apparently aXXo wasn’t very happy with the way The Pirate Bay handled his complaints, and decided to not release his torrents there anymore.
Unfortunately, aXXo’s popularity has downsides too. We’ve seen that anti-piracy organizations use his name to trap people into downloading fake files, and malware peddlers use the aXXo brand to spread their infested software.
At this point is is not clear how long aXXo will be inactive, his fans can only pray, and hope the he will return soon.

Firstly i do have some axxo rips and i only have them for one reason and that is to see movies that i dont feel like i should pay for, so there low res thats the point you want to see a half decent copy of a movie without paying for it and you want it fast i mean its not like your goin to build up a collection of em is it. i like what he has done he has gained trust in what might be millions of people so they download and then seed which means we get to dowload them in a couple of hours watch them and then not press but HIT the delete button. What would you rather do waste money on DVD’s that disapoint you or use something you already pay for and get movies for free that CAN be deleted.
Of course there are always loopholes it is Not illegal to have these rips as long as you own the origional material ie. DVD because they are classed as backups so unless they make that illegal we will be just fine and dandy.

Yes he re-encoded stuff and scene ripped it, but what other monkey couldn’t do that?. Also it’s not like scene went and made the movie or made the program to rip it.. So don’t get too upset all about this. I mean I done alot of similar stuff for self purposes and then some. But that was when I had the time and BT were not even heard of.
And the fact that aXXo goes to many sites and uploads his torrents is the best thing about his work. He deserves all the good cudos.

ive been downloading aXXo rips for as long as i can remember. i have many a movie and all the best rips are ripped by aXXo. the only reason some of you idiots think he/shes rubbish is because youve been using shit sources and downloading fake aXXo torrents from people ripping off aXXo’s tag. accept that aXXo does good rips. if they werent good rips then why would aXXo have such a good reputation and have millions of people downloading his torrents? all you people who hate aXXo have problems, as he/she provide the internet with practically the only decent rips out there that aren’t subbed,french,german,some other random language, or out of sync.
