aXXo Temporarily Stops Releasing DVDrips
Written by Ernesto on November 28, 2007The popular DVD ripper aXXo is a BitTorrent cult figure, despised by some, worshiped by others. An estimated one million people download aXXo’s rips every month and his name is among the most searched keywords on all BitTorrent sites. Not surprisingly, rumors start to spread when there is no official aXXo release for a while.
The last official aXXo torrent was uploaded November 11, after that is has been awfully quiet. So what happened, did he get caught, is he tired of releasing DVDrips, did he have an accident? It turns out that aXXo is not gone for good, he just decided to take a break.
ADL 242, an administrator on Darkside RG, the official home of aXXo explains: “aXXo told us that he has decided to take a break, so you will not see new aXXo torrents anywhere for a while. Please show your support by keeping his torrents alive until he comes back, as always, he will post here first when he does.”
This is not the first time that aXXo has taken some time off. Last year aXXo temporarily stopped uploading movies because a website named axxotorrents.com was trying to profit from his name. A few weeks after that the site went down and aXXo continued releasing DVDrips.
Earlier this month aXXo caused a stir when he deleted all his torrents from The Pirate Bay website. Apparently aXXo wasn’t very happy with the way The Pirate Bay handled his complaints, and decided to not release his torrents there anymore.
Unfortunately, aXXo’s popularity has downsides too. We’ve seen that anti-piracy organizations use his name to trap people into downloading fake files, and malware peddlers use the aXXo brand to spread their infested software.
At this point is is not clear how long aXXo will be inactive, his fans can only pray, and hope the he will return soon.

I can’t believe you could write something like that and not puke every time you look in the mirror since.
aXXo rips his own DVDs. He is NOT a re-encoder. If you knew anything about ripping you would understand this.
I hope he has a great break and comes back refreshed and ready to tackle all the ignorant people who don’t bother to get their facts straight.

seriously poeple some of you are acting like its the end of the world… yea the guy uploaded movies at a good quiality bad audio and did it a lot.. hes not a celeb hes nothing he is pry sick of you all on his balls.. ease the fuck up opff him he allready has nuts he doesnt ned anymore
aXXo basicly sucks. He re-encodes scene releases into 700mb avi files and gets so much credit, for what, stealing someone elses release. Unfair on the original group.
oh and to #55 you 100 billion million gagillion percent right .. i dont like going to movies cuz 1 i live in chicago… its 10.50 a fucking ticket to get in.. 4 dollars for a small drink 7 for a large drink… 4 bucks for a small popcorn that i was able to count all the pop corn in it.. it was 325 pieces of popcorn and then its 7 dollars for a large.. they have a “dpecial” that is 12.50 and thats a large drink and a large popcorn and then on top of that i had to pay 10 bucks for a ticket(9.50 for students)
maybe they should learn its the theaters that are fucking over thye movies and forcing some to download movies
i remmeber when i was little.. there waa DOLLAR theater! i would spend 10 bucks and see a mo=vie and have popcorn drink AND candy…

good riddance, his rips suck 1cd xvids? this is 2k7 people there are HDDVD rips of movies out now. If those are too big for you at least get the scene releases.

For the people that say aXXo is a stealer, you’re wrong. You hate it that there’s someone out there that delivers compact movies with good quality while there are big tough scene guys releasing 1,4 gb movies that are either the same quality or worser quality.
I’ve been downloading movies for a while now, and i mainly downloaded aXXo and I thought it was all normal and if axxo would stop for some reason than i’d just download someone elses release. Wrong. Wrong. Now that he stopped uploading, I realise what I’m missing.
aXXo I hope you come back soon. I’ve already downloaded and enjoyed so many of your releases and I wish i could repay you in some way. Is there any legit site where I can donate to you directly?
Hello Fellow people of the P2P community , I am not on “Vacation” I will stop my releases for a short amount of time. You may ask why , the answer is a few people and I are getting our own website up and working on our own P2P software for media only . We as a team agreed to not release any of this information till the time seemed right. Our software will run on upload/download ratio , to help stop leeching , also with this news out in the open now i would like to say a few things.
I don’t like how you people are so called “Bashing” my name. Why do I mean so much to you that you go out of your way to find news , and new torrents from me. For what? , If you don’t like my work then why do you continue to find , and locate this information? One would think if you dislike something you would stay away from it. I think you people need to just move on and go gripe about something else if you don’t like it no one is forcing you to be here , or to download my torrents.
When a friend of mine came to me and told me about the recent hype of my “Vacation” was hitting Torrent Freak i had to see it for my self. Now that i have seen this with my own eye’s it is back to work for me. I will monitor this section for a while your words , thoughts , and suggestions are being read from me.
aXXo’s name on a torrent is the mark of good quality and perfect size.
My guess, aXXo is a group of young black women, because:
(young) older people probably wouldn’t be making many dvd rips
(black) the torrents seem to always cover any film with black actors, and
(women) the number of aXXo torrents seem heavily weighted toward the horror & murder stuff women seem to like way more than guys do.

* Can get them from a single place, and always a big list to choose from
* Lots of seeds
* The quality that fits my needs
I consider the fact that Scene release subs fit perfectly, rather enjoyable :)

aXXo deserves all he asks for. His credit is unlimited and a break well deserved.
