We’re Back…

Written by Ernesto on February 18, 2008

… after almost 24 hours downtime. Thanks for waiting.

No MPAA or RIAA
No DDOS

Hardware troubles caused the downtime, normally not that big of a problem if the people at Softlayer weren’t that incompetent. It took them 12 hours to find out that the motherboard died, and another 12 to reinstall the OS. At the time of writing we still don’t have our data back. So, we took our backups and moved out of there, let’s hope everything holds up.

Forums are down for now, will be fixed within 24 hours

We will move to a better and more stable server in a few hours, without any significant downtime hopefully

update: The “you can click but you can’t hide” image was supposed to be a joke. I linked it to the new IP. 50 worrying emails and an hour later I took it down.

I recommend you go with a smaller dedicated host. These massive web hosts have so many customers that they can’t possibly provide decent support to all of them. Your continued custom is also less important to them, what’s one less customer out of thousands. I found this out through experience.

Go on webhostingtalk, or any large hosting forum and look under offers. If you see a good one, do a search and check other users feedback. You should be able to find a good little host this way.
TorrentFreak cant be taken down…right? You guys dont break any laws! :)
it does not matter if they broke a law, the MPAA would still attack them, call them a terrorist or some shit, either way if they did that, it would be a fun retalliation.

This site has been infiltrated and is now in the control of internet spooks. I just know it is! I will probably be killed for this knowledge, so God bless you all.

Jking.

Serious I though it was a take down as well.
