Why would reddit get the legal warnings? The site isn’t authorized or endorsed by reddit in anyway. It is organized and run by the users of reddit.

I read through all of the comments. All I have to say is “wow”. Why does everyone feel the need to attack the reddit community? If you knew two shits about reddit you would know that it is ran by the users for the users. You would also know that getting 100 comment karma literally takes an hour. Third, it is a PRIVATE TRACKER FOR THE COMMUNITY. We don’t want assholes like the majority of the commenters to sign up for reddit just to reap benefits. We might get unintelligent pricks like those on Digg, etc. Its not elitist by any means, and if it was, who cares?

I’m not sure where you’re getting the “better than the rest of us” from. It’s a (sort of) private tracker for a particular community. Good on ‘em.

There must be more drama behind the private tracker ‘scene’ than I’m aware of.

Thanks for replying guys, glad none of you read my full post either :-)

I’m well aware it’s not a sponsored tracker, no where did I say or imply that it was. For you that say a lot of different people visit Reddit everyday, i’m sure you are correct, but the more experienced BT users on Reddit would know better than to do something stupid like this, care to disagree?

I suppose i’m ill-informed and mistaken then, because I don’t see this working out at all. From the story it seems the tracker was started in a matter of hours, which means, even at today’s web speeds, it didn’t get any real “planning”. Sorry, but i’m sticking to what I said before.

The tracker so far doesn’t seem to provide anything that any other tracker wouldn’t provide content wise.The only thing it does provide is the community feel.I don’t remember the last time I used torrents after I moved to rs.premium but I signed up anyway.
Let me give you an example,there was a poll recently for the top albums of 2009 as seen by /r/music,a user created sub reddit,subscribers.

The albums individually could be found on any tracker but collectively they’d have meaning only on baconbits.

So for all of you guys calling the signup requirements as elitists,you probably don’t frequent reddit so you’re not losing out on much.
