Jeffrey Brisker Jr. downloaded the child porn intentionally. He likes toddlers. The news paper failed to mention that his grandparents house was also a parsonage / daycare. I cannot believe there is only a single post that caught that.

Oh, and the Reavers in Firefly were created by the government, accidentally, in an attempt to create the perfect society. (As shown in the movie Serenity)

I’d be amazed if anyone trusted “Rhever”.

To prove that rhever is not a scam I have actually left the code completely unobfuscated. Using the free Microsoft .NET Reflector tool you can see every last bit of code contained within Rhever. The client is free, we simply charge the cost to maintain the index server and provide you with a quota to use. You can sign up, login to nntp.rhever.com using any news reader with the same credentials you created online. The only dll that is “protected” is the rarengine.dll which was obtained directly from rarlab’s source forge page. It is “protected” because it was written in C++ which anyone with software development knowledge knows, is compiled to native machine code and can not be read the same way an application written in .NET is.

We also don’t record anything because there is nothing to record. You can look at tcp packet captures to see exactly what is going on. We simply query the search server for what you want to query then your client connects to the news server directly and downloads the files. The news server is run by newshosting.com which is by most considered the second largest news server company in the world right behind giganews.

This information is a bit hidden because we want to make the client as easy to use as possible. Like I said before, we are only 3 months, but will be making great improvements by the end of the year.

It is my hope that a 3rd with some technical knowhow will analyze the program in depth to validate what I am saying, but until then I expect users to react with criticism.

Nice idea … having dedicated servers to spread desired files around — trouble with that is, the more popular a file becomes, the more people try simultaneously downloading from the same server, the more lag accumulates and the slower the download becomes — this is exactly what BitTorrent was designed to prevent … that Rhever can do the same without peer to peer sharing means a great deal of dedicated bandwidth will have to be allocated by Rhever to keep their network from grinding to a halt — again, the exact scenario that torrents were designed to alleviate … I look forward to seeing what happens to Rhever as their popularity grows and the limits of their dedicated bandwidth throughputs are tested …
