Browser and Internet based apps are the future. Look at the latest popular Linux distro gOS for one example.
Personally, I’m using a really old laptop so having all these things integrated into my browser saves on resources and also makes life a bit easier.
Also check out SamePlace for an all protocol chat client built into your FF browser.

I tried AllPeers again yesterday – it was confusing to use then, it is confusing to use now. Their idea of “simplicity” is really warped.

FoxTorrent doesn’t have the social aspects, but its actually a simple and usable BitTorrent client for Firefox. AllPeers needs to do some work on “simplicity”…

No need for oink if you have allpeers. Just load all your friends in it. It’s how private trackers will be replaced. We’ve been using it with my friends for 3 weeks and we love it.

And they’re forgetting a very annoying thing yet with Firefox (which I love and use!) – its Windows memory resources eater!! So as “somebody” up here mentioned, utorrent or alikes are easier, lighter to use… but once the memory issue is solved (can we really expect that???) Allpeers sounds like a perfect thing to try out!

social networking combined with easy filesharing is a winner

anything to popularize bittorrent, but the price will be high. ideally AllPeers should ship with transparent SafePeer/PG2 functionality. the risk is a backlash from hurt families in the USA
