I have been using for a while now for ALL my communications <a href="http://www.tuvpn.com" rel="nofollow">TuVPN</a> VPN Service. I think I will never access again the Net from France ... definitely VPN services have a bright future ... wondering which we will be the first to setup a VPN server in the moon so we can finally relax ...

@RM
"So the bottom line is piracy will force a blanket inescapable internet tax, and a big tax too, based upon preexisting revenue streams in all the different digital businesses."

Right. And the climate change will force a blanket inescapable oil tax we gonna pay to for saudi arab&co to make up for their loss in oil sales. And a big tax too, based on their current revenue stream.

Because everybody knows when a buiseness model fails tax payers all over the world will have to compensate and foot the bill.

The big labels skills are printing and distributing CDs. They never created music. And noone needs them anymore.
Let them RIP.

the government here(france)has said that it is not possible for them to monitor megaupload or rapidshare so that's the easiest way not to get caught,also use a good ipblocker like ipfilter.dat or peerblock

They don't need DPI just need a court order in Germany to get to the server's log, that by law in Europe must retain for 6 months detailed logs about who used.

The German government could even make the administrators silent just like they did with the JAP(Java Anon Proxy)

Monitoring Rapidshare ?
Unless they're using DPI, I don't see how they can do that...

Do you have a source for this Rapidshare monitoring info ???

@ 84 Jan 27, 2010 at 16:55 by Anonymous: I rofl'd xD

I think some basic encryption will nullify any attempt to monitor non-p2p services such as rabbidshare - considering there is any way to do that.

Also, VPNs will probably explode in the near future. As some1 said here they are affordable and somewhat easy to use with some basic instructions.

And any positive MAFIAA and merry friends image - if there is any still standing - will go down the sewers...

And they'll keep doing that till they lose their costumers support completely and for good. Then they'll be doomed. And this is a matter of time as far as I can see.

Reasoned Mind fails to understand what's going on and he even turns blind eyes and deaf ears to what is being discussed and said here right under his nose. Pitiful. He could do a wonderful job to his bosses at MAFIAA by taking our thoughts and ideas to enrich the services they provide but he chose to echo what MAFIAA says and thinks.

AOL bet their cash on dial-up and the illusion it'd never go away. GM bet their cash on the illusion ppl would be always stupid and always buy gas guzzling vehicles. Media industries bet their money on the illusion that physical media will rule forever and that ppl should buy b4 trying....

cheers

@MAFIAA Troll
"You sound like the desperate Jimmy Cagney in WHITE HEAT, playing psychotic killer Cody Jarrett………”Come and get me copper!!”"

You sound like Patrick Cargill in Hammer Into Anvil, playing the increasingly unhinged Number Two.

@MAFIAA Troll
"With so many productive paths in life,"

You chose to become a paid whore for the content industry, which is on the losing end of a struggle that was over more than 10 years ago.

@MAFIAA Troll
"So he can steal some music now and then."

Automated response:

Theft is when you take someone’s property away from them without their consent. Filesharing is when you virtually replicate a piece of property and then take only the replicated copy, which fails completely to qualify as theft for the obvious reason that nobody has had their property taken away from them, virtual or otherwise.

@ .@93
"Too right RM"

Internet Debate Tip #258: When the only person agreeing with you is yourself under a another screen name, it's time to give up.

Too right RM
It's funny how Pirates scream "Privacy" or internet rightswhen their illegal / unlawful activities are tracked, whilst not giving a toss about anyone elses rights or privacy

RIPPING OFF ARTISTS & RECORD PEODUCERS

RIPPING OFF THEIR NEIGHBOURS

NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE

"Don't question my authority or put me in the dock. 'Cause I'm not, maybe not"

“I dare the industry to try to stop me from taking their products free. I dare the government to enhance enforcement. I double dog dare the sons of bitches.”

lmao!
You sound like the desperate Jimmy Cagney in WHITE HEAT, playing psychotic killer Cody Jarrett.........”Come and get me copper!!”
You’ve gotta feel pity for anyone who thinks legal authorities are wrong for enforcing infringement law. With so many productive paths in life, this sad poster just sounds like such a lost fool. So he can steal some music now and then. But it IS mildly entertaining. lol

<blockquote>The government should be afraid of its people, not the people of their government. But you seem to have forgotten that. Pretty soon the masses will rise and remind you that your labels, with their expensive lawyers, their bought-and-paid-for politicians, their media circus, their Nazi elitist way of life and this whole disgustingly corrupt system will all disappear. We are the people and we shall tear you down from your thrones and through you in the sewers with the rest of the shit were you belong.</blockquote>

The problem is that Big Business and Government have problem of saying "Do As I Say Not As I Do" This is not about fairness, it's about keeping the cycle of greed and corruption going between Big Business and Government. The governments of the world have been corrupted by Big Business so that they can keep the elite very rich and powerful.

As we have seen with all the "show" trials being conducted around the world that they don't care if it's fair or not. We are back to the might makes right mentality as society is dragged backwards on the social evolution scale.

@MAFIAA Troll

I dare the industry to try to stop me from taking their products free. I dare the government to enhance enforcement. I double dog dare the sons of bitches.

The industry and the government have both abjectly failed to thwart P2P filesharing for over a DECADE, and now all of a sudden I'm supposed to start shaking in my boots? Why?

Because that little dictator Sarkozy undemocratically forced HADOPI down France's throat? HADOPI is an unenforceable trainwreck, a toothless joke. So that can't be it.

Oh, I see. I'm supposed to be afraid of some kind of impending make-believe internet tax, and I'm also supposed to pretend that it would be the fault of filesharers instead of the greedy politicians who drafted it into law at the behest of the industry and its nice juicy bribes.

Let me think... Should I listen to your frantic doomsday propaganda, which has a track record of being wrong 100% of the time? Should I be afraid of the internet tax bogeyman?

Hmm. No.

@MAFIAA Troll
"You entertain me."

Hehehe. I picture you typing that while choking back tears. The sad thing is that's probably not too far off the mark, right, shill-boy?

@MAFIAA Troll
"YOU will look like the cheap infringers driving this new solution to paying for the products you’ve been stealing"

Whenever you lie that filesharing is stealing, I'm just going to copy and paste this from now on:

Theft is when you take someone’s property away from them without their consent. Filesharing is when you virtually replicate a piece of property and then take only the replicated copy, which fails completely to qualify as theft for the obvious reason that nobody has had their property taken away from them, virtual or otherwise.

@Reasoned Mind

Your post, #79, has been analyzed and determined to be

[] misleading
[x] FUD
[x] trolling

on the basis of the fact that you have (check all that apply)

[] compared the downloading of a digital file with the theft of a physical object
[x] used misleading terms such as "piracy," "stealing" or "theft" to describe copyright infringement
[] vastly exaggerated financial losses to rights holders due to file sharing
[] stated that file sharing harms honest artists by depriving them of needed revenue
[] said that without copyright, there would be no incentive to create or innovate
[] implied or explicitly stated that artists should have absolute, permanent control over their creative works
[x] supported unjust punishments for copyright infringement that do not fit the offense
[x] supported unjust, expensive and invasive anti-infringement laws and measures
[x] defended the entertainment industries and/or excused an immoral or illegal action of theirs
[x] implicitly or explicitly attacked fair use, right of first sale, and/or the public domain

and you have done this despite the fact that (check all that apply)

[x] effectively enforcing copyright on the Internet is difficult, time-consuming and expensive
[x] changing laws to allow easy, effective enforcement of copyright on the Internet would breach peoples' privacy and fair use rights
[x] overly broad and restrictive copyright has been demonstrated to hinder creativity and innovation
[x] copyright infringement is no more theft than trespassing
[] the modern implementation of intellectual property rights favors large corporations over individuals
[x] just because something is illegal does not mean it's wrong
[] the financial losses to file sharing have been challenged and no solid evidence has appeared to support the claims of massive losses
[] any financial losses from file sharing are incurred primarily by publishers and distributors as opposed to artists and creators
[x] Internet Service Providers have no desire to spend millions of dollars to police their networks and drive away customers
[] one download of a copyrighted work does not equal one lost sale
[] artists may in fact benefit from file sharing as it gives greater exposure which leads to greater sales and a large fanbase
[] it has been repeatedly demonstrated that people who download will also buy more
[] some industries, such as the motion picture industry, are bringing in record profits despite file sharing
[x] due to regional lockout and the entertainment industries' resistance to change, some people have no choice but to illegally download content
[] a large amount of free and legal content exists online, proving that people will create even if there's little or no financial incentive
[x] you have failed to cite any sources for your arguments, particularly those dependent on data.

In conclusion, I advise you to:
[] review the fundamental intent of intellectual property law
[] review intellectual property law
[] actually read the article you commented on
[x] actually respond to the arguments that others make against you
[x] apply basic ethics and morality, along with common sense, to your future posts
[x] sodomize yourself with a retractable baton.

Obvious troll is obvious.

All this mindless "You can't stop us!" bs. So boring and childish, so off the mark.

Daring industry to try to stop you from taking their products free isn't very smart. Daring government to enhance enforcement is REALLY not smart. You sound like 11 year olds here.

DPI isn't smart, either. And no one wants a monitored network.

So the bottom line is piracy will force a blanket inescapable internet tax, and a big tax too, based upon preexisting revenue streams in all the different digital businesses. All entertainment and digital product will feel like "free" but the costs to get on the internet will be mindboggling. lol. And then the industries have you by the balls. Because NOW YOU PAY THEM just to get online. And they are SET.

The industries will be permanent, books, games, movies and music, everything digital whether you want to pay for them all or not, and there is nothing you can do to escape them. And the courts will agree, better this than suing people and people with no children pay school taxes, right? People with no car pay road taxes, too. It will all prove fully legal.

And best of all, YOU will look like the cheap infringers driving this new solution to paying for the products you've been stealing and they will look like the reasonable diplomats willing to accept a tax for their efforts. lol

And the government doesn't have to monitor and makes HUGE taxes ON THE TAX itself!! WIN all around.

And you think this is better than freedom of choice to purchase or not. huh?
Pirates are morons. lol
Seriously. The tax is coming and your cheapass foolishness be responsible for it.
You entertain me.

where i live, dpi is illegal to use, lest its for criminal activity.
filesharing is breaking 'civil' law and not criminal law.
encrypt and your isp can never say they looked at your movies being downed.
they will...
but they cant say so...

What the bbc are doing is testing the publics angst on the subject.
remember when the bbc were in the back of the police car that arrested
Allan Ellis?
IN THE BACK OF THE CAR!!!!!!!!!
HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?
they are a .gov mouthpiece propaganda mill.
heres what should be reported on the 6 o clock spews
'Today, SonyBMG arrested a man at his house, because they paid politicians and the chief of police to do so.

Thanks to this law, french people (like me) gonna pay 15€/3months to IPREDATOR to get a VPN to do what we want.
Thanks to this law, police and other authority in France won't be able to access to our network without the help of a judge.

Cool.

TorrentFreak should look at the law project "LOPSI" in France. It better than HADOPI because it's "against" Child Pornography website. Very funny project.

one more thing, for those using open wifis:
you should still use a vpn when downloading torrents because it protects you neighbor and when he feels safe, he will not secure his wifi...

usenet and oneclick-hosting is a different thing - they are quite safe for downloading atm

Will anybody buy more cds/dvs/brds if nobody can download? I don't think so, this shitty anticonstitutional law will fail miserably or we'll all move to more secure/anonymous systems!

RM forgot to mention that he is and his MAFIAA bosses are the illegal side :-).

Ontopic:
If ISP's are not involved in the monitoring then there is no way they could monitor newsgroups,ftp or rapidshare (only physical access to cables would be an option). Also for rapidshare a lot of files are password encrypted to protect them from being deleted which also prevents the usefullness of deep packet inspection.

Its seems a trend that private parties now get to play police whenever they believe someone owes them money. I know why they chose them. If it were up to an independent firm they might actually present evidence with a disclaimer that the evidence may not be accure.

All trackers should now start injecting ALL French IP's as sources connected to the trackers (like TPB did).

@ Reasoned Mind

I like You. Don’t ever stop. You make it more interesting and put mindless lunacy on display.

Just notice that piracy is a poor competition. The one owning money usually influences law the most. Still piracy is able to force record labels services evolution to ways more adequate to our generation. Making some jobs obsolete but creating other. Every business needs to consider risks. So as You say chips just fall wherever they may.

As for traffic inspection – my life is my art – my way of doing things is not to be traded or invaded without my permission, no artist wish to be monitored this close. Everybody might be a sinner as well as You might be one. It’s not what they might see but for what they will see.
They might see piracy, but they will see our lives.
If You cross the street on a red light and nobody can see it, no harm is done, police lost it’s profit. Does it mean that they should monitor Your every step and accidently know much about You? Forbid You (or someone wearing Your shoes) to walk if You cross the street 3 times on a red light? Yet should they have more authority than record labels.
If record labels monitor all the traffic then I wish that they and artists they represent were as closely monitored too. I wonder how creative/profitable some artists would be having their every step monitored and displayed to fans. Just do to them what You intend to do to everyone.

Our privacy is more sensible than any copyright.
