I help as a staff member at a site, a good site and this BS wouldn’t happen there. CHDBits is a gonner, if not now then soon and even if they revoke there dumb ass decision to become a dictatorship I would expect there members to be too offended to bother with them. Thats what happens when people get above there station. still if this site goes under then mine will grow stronger so I say carry on (dumb asses)

You guys are just knobs really. CHDBits is fantastic. Huge amount of
content, fast downloads, fantastic seeder retention. Top quality
internal encodes. Huge amount of freeleech and discounted downloads.
Generous seeding bonus And a sanctioned invites request and give-away
section.

The assessment achieves some sensible things. It raises
seeder and leecher numbers, especially on older torrents. It does
increase donations to the site, which is a good thing for every member,
something you cheap ass want it all for nothing types can’t comprehend.
It weeds out collectors and barely active members that contribute little
to the site and frees up membership spaces to new , and hopefully,
better members. As far as HD content being hard to share? Pffft. I can
download A 14GB movie in under 3hrs on a standard adsl connection and
survive uploading at a max of 90kbs.

Your dodgy .avi standard def downloads just don’t cut it on my 60 inch plasma. Sorry

Pfft, crying about having to download a fucking HD 45 minute show in 3 hours?

Anytime i download something that big, no matter the definition, i have to wait DAYS! Where i stay, and leave my damn PC on.

Well if it’s any consolation, they probably would’ve found some other reason to ban, like you didn’t downgrade uTorrent to version 1.8.2 (seriously, that’s one of their requirements). Meanwhile, sites with no rules or loosely enforced rules are flourishing. Hmm…

True. Anything above 720p for a 1 hour TV show in h.264 is huge. 4GB’s or more for a 1080p 1 hour show if you use the ‘recommended’ best quality settings.

You get power hungry mods on most private sites, it makes them feel good about themselves when in reality they’re probably fat pasty loners with little real world contact.
I was once banned from uploading, posting on the forums etc on thebox.bz, The reason? I’d upped a DVDrip and one of the Nazis said it wasn’t UK produced. I sent a comprehensive reply (with link to the UK production company) informing him otherwise, I got a “Less of the attitude” type response and all the bans.
I didn’t care, my ratio was good, but eventually I felt I owed it to the other members to up so just invited myself and set up a new account. :)

This isn’t exactly new. They do this every year. Other torrent sites do it as well to weed out the inactive accounts, and people that don’t use the site that often.

I don’t get the point of this at all unless they’re getting ready to sell their users out to studios for easy extortion.
