The measly bandwidth for serving torrents (or just the magnet links) is NOTHING compared to the huge bandwidth of news servers who serve the whole files.

And don’t forget another point: a full feed of binaries.* is orders of magnitude more than what a (major) file hoster has to transfer.

So yes, USENET bandwidth for providers is HUGE. Nothing comparable to P2P or filehosters.
