The comparison TF made is not the one they condone or truly think, but rather a use of the words anti-pirates will use. It’s they who try to equate physical theft with “intellectual property theft,” hence the termonology itself using identical-sounding words. By using their same words, the point of the article becomes (and TF in general) to point out that it doesn’t make sense.

Yes, doubt. The illegality of copying which does not deprive and is thus not theft is questionable. Of course, legality, as authorized and/or mandated by any one or more organized authorities or governing or otherwise superior or escalated communities, is also questionable, or the nature of such is.

For example, I could arbitrarily (or otherwise with various logicalities or faithfulnesses) express one or more legalities per my own authority, and anyone willing to comply and/or abide by such may or may not do so.
