Each time I read about another country dropping their pants and bowing down for the entertainment / corporate @ssh0l3s, my blood starts boiling.

It’s sooo simple!

1) Just make (all!!!) media better available online and for really reasonable prices on fast servers… this will decimate their problem. Yes, there will always be people who will only go for the “free” stuff but really, in percentages, about how many people are they really worrying??? Come on?!
2) Do they really think that all that gets downloaded illegaly will be bought on a 1 to 1 ratio when this bill passes? NOOO, of course not! That all downloaders become buyers?? NO man!! NOO! Think!

We need to step up, not on a local or national level but on a global level! Don’t wait for the other to do something about it, ’cause it ain’t gonna happen and this is why nothing has been done about it yet.

Hmmm…. morality isn’t breaking the law and hoping to get away with it. Actually, it would be more *moral* to disobey the law in the open, and set an example for mass civil disobedience. At least, it would be an intentional *political* action, instead of hoping to fly under the radar. Let them build jails for 10% of the population, and financially ruin 20% of it, if that’s their intention.

Then again, why are we small guys supposed to act morally, when government and lawmakers are the epitome of unmorality and corruption anyway?

Our privacy laws are being stripped away, our fair rights use laws are going to vanish, and our government is completely IGNORING the will of the people.

Yes, I love downloading my tv shows, I haven’t had cable in over a decade. I love downloading movies before I buy them on bluray, and games, etc etc. But this goes so far beyond that, if you merely concentrate on that point our cause is doomed to fail. I’d gladly pay for the content if i got it my way, and for a fair price. They refuse to offer that.

But my basic rights as a Canadian are about to be trampled on, buy a government who’s “leader” by definition by actions is a facist dictator. The opposition doesn’t exist. The government is rouge, and decided at a critical point in Canada’s history, to take a month off, flaunting it infront of canadians knowing they “just don’t care”.

Then that SOB “takes it to the people” about copyright, ask them what they want he says. Then laughs in our face, tells us to F*CK off and does whatever the hell HE wants to do. Even if it undoes several privacy protections. Even if we already pay a tax for a right to do something this will make illegal, again, or more, or whatever. This is lunacy. Our isps will have to monitor us, and there is just about nothing you can do to hide 100% your pirating activity, unless you “hack wifi” and even then you can be caught.

No proof will be required, they can just send complaints and get you shut off. They can hand your info over without a warrant without proof.

I don’t think you get it, some of this bill, potentially, is WORSE than the us.

Beyond the bill, it shows that this government is Rouge, and doomed. Doomed governments do some pretty f*cked up sh*t, ask Bush, before 9/11 there were several scandals linked to the whitehouse and his approval ratings were the lowest ever, until Obama of course.

We need to get up and do something, send your letter, go get a face to face with your MP. I work for my provincial government, and live in the capital city, I see the Premier most weeks down town and can just run up and corner him, maybe with a camera if i can get one.

If we raise up a big stink about this, that will only raise awareness that downloading is big and also popular in canada too, thus it will motivate corporations and govt to pass a simular law.
