People use cyberlockers to store pirated material, the site owners make plenty of money off of that.  But the MPAA and the RIAA could have prevented that.  They could have profited on all their copyrighted material by using the internet.  They could have avoided countless lawsuits, complete loss of public trust, and however much money they claim the cyberlockers made off of their material.

Their greed caused it, but the cyberlocker sites got a taste of that same kind of wealth.  You’re right, they are going to be protecting their own interests, but they don’t have a history of suing anyone that they can drag to court.

It has a good point. Some torrent site owners make there website intending to gain profits from ad revenue thanks to piracy. If you’re making a torrent website like thePIRATEbay you’re not hidding the fact that you’re profiting from piracy.

It was only a few days ago when someone was put into jail for not claiming tax on his $250k(I think it was) profits from a torrent website.

Sure, TPB may be in it for the good of free culture. However, stop trying to fool yourself into believe TPB doesn’t make profit from it’s website.
