Russia was the pariah dog of the world for most of its post-October revolution history. The currency was banned from international trading, its achievements of building a workers state was derided, it was called totalitarian and considered as vicious threat to western democracy. Now the US asks that Russia abides by its capitalist rules on copyright and modern Russia complies. Is this a new stage in Russian history? Seems to be. I think most Europeans secretly wish that Russia will take its seat in Europe so we can form a true European Union. Russia is part of Europe and that is something that the USA should never forget. Europeans may not agree with some aspects of Russian socialism but then they also disagree with some aspects of US capitalism. To any American reading this and thinking that the socialist revolution has failed in Russia try to remember this is the European country that gave the world Tolstoy, Pushkin, Borodin, Tchaikovsky (to name a few). Whats the difference between the Gulag and Guantanamo Bay? Nothing. Europe is not fooled by US or Russian rhetoric but we know who is physically closer to us. Europe needs to be seen to broker these delicate requests since the US sees any capitulation from Russia as further proof of their superior system. Such is the nature of youth.

Awesome website, thanks Russian court and copyright holders, if you hadn’t gone after it I’d never have heard of it.

And what’s even cooler is even if they close it down someone will open up a new one that’ll probably be that much better and harder to shut down and I’ll go looking for it.
