I’ll believe that it’s the only response when the others have been tried. I haven’t seen any big protests about this stuff. I haven’t seen pirates going door-to-door trying to convince people that they’re right. I have seen people just complain and say that nothing’s being fixed.

You haven’t tried enough to say that violence is the only response. Violence should be an absolute last-resort, not just a “poor response”. It’s the wrong response unless you have a pressing need for change and you have tried everything else and none of it works. I haven’t seen any pro-piracy protesters being gunned down or rounded up off the streets. I haven’t even seen any pro-piracy protesters. You have to try before you can say that you have a need to resort to violence.
