If the UK police is going to seize everything what they want it will do big mess...ok maybe there were some ilegal content but on the other hand Police have to follow rules too... this mirror sites http://cricfree.co/ or the others which are named in the article are just result of confusing police work.
Some advise that I found on another forum:

.Eu domains is not the best choice. They can be seized too! Look at http://nutjob.eu or http://bshades.eu/ . A safer choice for domain would be .CH or .TO .

.CH is Switzerland, it has it's own rules and is a neutral Country that ignore outside pressure from US/UK Government to seize domains. If it's legal in Switzerland (which streaming/downloading/p2p is), they won't seize the domains.

.TO is a popular choice with big streaming sites like movie2k/4k because they don't bow to pressure from US Govermants and the whois is totally anonymous. They only show registration date and nameserver records - see http://www.tonic.to/whois?hello.to

The problem with the jobs argument is that, yes, less money being spent in their sector of the economy means it can sustain fewer jobs. But that money doesn't go away: it's spent elsewhere (see also: the "piracy costs the economy £x million" nonsense) and so other sectors can employ more people.

In terms of jobs i think it is all contracted out to contractors who does different type of job. However that is not a defence to say that there are job losses. There is always two questions I always ask myself:

# If I download a media file (Game, Music, TV-show and movie or book) would I buy the item if I could not download it?

# If the general public knew that they could not get prosecuted would the piracy increase where nobody would buy any Media?

Now at least from my perspective this is something we don't have answer to. However that said I do have a solution to the problem however it is unlikely any-time soon this solution will happen.

Solution:
# Create a portal or access point where, all books, Music, Video games, Movies, TV show anything which can be technically copied available for download for a monthly subscription. Make it available to the public, and monitor what gets downloaded and based on popularity pay the creator of the Item. The items would have a worldwide launch, I.E if the movies is released to BR / DVD it is also available on this downloadable medium.

I would assume this would be resolving alot of the current issues and Piracy would be suddenly very limited to a very limited group of people as the good old days.

The usual figure we hear is one media industry job for every fifty or so media studies graduates, and that includes the kind of technical jobs you're talking about for which a media degree might not be the best preparation.
