I didn’t just use Demonoid to get copyrighted material. I used it to get documentaries made by “truth seekers” that were not copyrighted for obvious reasons and I know many others did too.

I think you’re missing the point here, somewhat; this isn’t about copyrighted material being downloaded. That old argument has been around since Napster. This was a Trojan Horse (sort of. not a great metaphor, I know). Insiders in the US have wanted to stop people criticising the govt for years and this is a first step. Obama’s been wanting power over the internet ever since he took office. I find this rather hyprocritical as he spoke against Egypt pulling the internet at the beginning of the protests.

The laws written in the US are so vague to give a govt out of control and greedy for power and the silence of its critics the framework to silence them in the future. This also happened in the UK but with the help of Big Brother Watch’s rallying of its supporters and other pressure groups it was squashed. In the US, sadly the people are afraid of the govt. With a little phrase “un-American” the people have been silenced. You’ll find this nowhere else in the world. There’s no one saying “That’s un-British” or “that’s un-Australian.” The US has far too much power in the affairs of other nations too. The Russians completely caved to US pressure, as did the Canadian govt before.

The US is attempting to extradite people it sees as “terrorists” – another word that has become like trying to nail jelly to the wall – by fair means or foul. If Sweden gets Julian Assange, for example, they will allow the US to get him – when he has committed no crime. He didn’t steal that information, he simply disseminated it, like the NY Times did (who have never even been threatened with legal action). Assange can not be a traitor to the US as he is Australian. It’s all about sending messages and setting precedents. You have to look at the global implications of every political policy. How is it worded. Is the language tight (like the US constitution); can it be used to mean something else later?

A few words about elephants: A pink elephant is something alcoholics see; a white elephant is something useless or pointless; and the (plain) elephant in the room is the metaphorical discussion no one wants to have.

I’ll also say this. Whenever I downloaded an album by an artist I like but couldn’t afford it a the time, I did purchase it as soon as I could. I want the art work as well as the music and I want the flexibility I get from original media. I have over 400 DVDs and BRs too. Truth.

I have no idea where you can get you Quad remixes. You’ll notice there are fewer and fewer places for torrents these days. BTJunkie, PirateBay and now Demonoid. ISOHunt is crap as people don’t use it properly and many torrents have few peers, except recent movies (which is probably why it’s still there).

 That’s why the site was so good, don’t know why you are trashing public sites anyway’s, Torrentspy, and BTjunkies were the BEST torrent sites til they got closed down, both public, you used to be able to find ANYTHING you were looking for on those 2, regardless, Demoniod wasn’t public, so am guessing you never bothered going there to find that out, without a membership you wouldn’t have been able to DL squat~~
