Demonoid Opens Registration during the Weekends
Written by Ernesto on September 25, 2006The popular semi-private tracker Demonoid.com announced that it will open its doors during the weekends. Until today Demonoid’s registration was mainly “invite only”.
It appears that Demonoid teamed-up with searching.com. Searching.com is a search engine that is buying itself into several BitTorrent sites in order to boost their alexa ranking (more on this later).
This deal brings in some extra cash for demonoid, so they are finally able to keep on growing.
At this point Demonoid already is one of the most popular public BitTorrent trackers, together with The Piratebay. As a semi-private tracker they even made it into the list of the 1000 most popular sites on the Internet (no. 983).
On demonoid we read:
We are now working in conjunction with Searching.com
Among other benefits, this will allow us to open the registrations more often, as you may have noticed by messages indicating we plan to open them once a week, and will be very good for Demonoid in the long run.
Finally people can stop begging for Demonoid invites! To illustrate how desperately people want these invites, here’s a true story.

I used to download and upload tons of wonderfull music there ’till they kick me for some reason i don´t know.

That rank is global, not from a category. Demonoid is the #983 site counting all the sites on the internet, not only the bittorrent sites.

Demonoid has gone to hell and anyone with half a brain knows it. If you try and block all of their ad sponsors
you get hit with some very rude popups (most of them blank if you have the proper IP ranges blocked), and an extremely loud and annoying buzzer until you close the browser window which has Demonoid open. Here’s a list of

In one way or another, Demonoid links to all of this shit. Put these ranges to block in your firewall or Peer
Guardian and you’ll see what I mean. It’s not just the ad’s either. Their open policy has killed the ability for
anyone living in the US to upload movies or music. Demonoid has a welcome mat and rolls out the red carpet for MPAA, RIAA and their payed AP2P companies. Who in the hell wants to share pirated files out in the open like
that? Sure as hell not anyone with any brains.

Demonoid now has open registration, just check out their site on Friday and you should be able to join!! However this Friday I think they are closed, but just check their website out!!
The real trick is getting someone to invite you to Oink!!!
