Demonoid To Be Resurrected Under New Admin
Written by enigmax on April 11, 2008Deimos, the administrator of Demonoid has announced that he is stepping down for good due to his preoccupation with ‘real-life’ issues. For those tearing their hair out with dismay, you can stop now. The site will be resurrected under a trusted new admin and Deimos is asking the community to give him support.
Ever since Demonoid had to leave Canada, there has been speculation about the future of the site. Although the tracker has been returning periodically from various places - the latest being Ukraine - no solid news has been coming out about a proper comeback. Deimos, the Demonoid admin, has been very quiet - until now, that is.
In a message on the SubDemon forums, Deimos breaks his silence:
Hello Everyone,
It is with great sadness (and not a little relief) that I announce that I will be stepping down as admin of Demonoid, with effect from today.
Demonoid is currently suffering from a number of things, prime amongst these being my distraction with real-world issues, and so I have handed the reins over to a new administrator - a close friend of mine, which I trust completely and has the knowledge and time to take care of the site.
He will, in due course, be making his own announcements about the future of Demonoid. Of course, speculation over the future of the site is fun, but it is ultimately fruitless - you will all, in the near future, become aware of what the future holds. I trust that you will all give your support to the new admin as he finds his feet while he resurrects Demonoid.
Thanks again for your support in making Demonoid what it was and is.
Goodbye and good wishes - it has been a blast!- Deimos
It’s great news for the BitTorrent community that the future of Demonoid is in trusted hands and for some, quite a surprise after such a long wait. But it just might be worth it if one of the world’s most popular trackers does indeed come back with a bang.
Update: The Demonoid RSS feeds started to work again.

i wont be using the new demonoid
http://www.h33t.com is way into the future
demonoid is dust
i like h33t
the old demonid was unreliable
demoniod is back yeah
eh, screw the naysayers, the king is back, long live the king!
people who are trolling are probably just snobs, or bitter people who couldn’t find an invite.
demonoid is the best index and tracker i’ve ever used, and I’ve pretty much used them all. this is a good day for the file-sharing community, one of the big boys back into the fray…
my name is pete and i am the worse thing that happened to filesharing
but this is not demonoid as we knew it
this is not the same organization
we dont know this demonoid!!!
well for all of you who won’t be back, I won’t miss you, your the ones passing up on the best site there is. and as for my comment I put a “i believe” in but it didn’t show. it was meant as my best educated guess. If I was wrong I’m sorry.
You’ve seen the rest now try the best

Demonoid is the worst “private” tracker out there. It might as well be a public tracker for the fact that the invites are handed out like candy and the torrents can be downloaded without an account. Another reason is that my speeds on Demonoid were usually slow as well.
Yet, although I don’t like to use Demonoid at all, I think it is good that it is back up because it is one more slap in the face of the MPAA/RIAA retards.
Well, when you boys and girls in the usa start getting your infringement letters and subpeonas after your logs are turned over, don’t cry.
Don’t let me stop you if your pockets are deep. Have fun.
Demonoid is BACK UP and RUNNING
Cant wait to see the come back. Good luck with whatever you life contains at this time. Hoping for the best!

How can you be new to the internet and remember Demonoid at the same time?

I’ll tell them the same thing I tell all the other bill collectors. “See my credit report? Add it to it cause you can’t get blood out of a turnip.” They can get the court judgement all day long, they can’t get money I don’t have.
Site’s been back up for at least a couple of hours now, as if it was never gone :D
all day i was walking out in the woods looking for pigeon

I see plenty of comics, and everything else as well. I am not sure if I can trust this new Demonoid, I think I’ll let you guys test the waters, I’ll stick to sites I can trust, like http://www.h33t.com/ and if I’m going to take risks with trackers, I’ll do it on TPB, I know they have the balls to stand up to the MAFIAA.
fuk all you guys who say it is not the real demonoid
demonoid forever
demonid rules
we are the real domeoniders

darn strait!
demonoid is not as important as it once was. today i find http://www.h33t.com to be far more reliable and also they are public
demonoid may be back, but who really owns it? does anybody truely know? it could very well be a lokitorrent type scam. i know all my stuff is gone as well as my account (i had over 200 torrents before it shut down). that smells like a trap to me. be careful who you hand you ip to, cause you never know who is logging them.

i’ve been logged in and all is still there just as it should be, just as Deimos promised all those months ago when it went down. And I got news for you, your IP is logged on every site you visit and you never know who is doing what with that either, so if that is how you feel you really should just turn off your PC and pull the internet plug.
It’s back up now, everythings working.
Speeds aren’t as great as they were before, but they’re still totally acceptable.
Old accounts work just great.
BACK :D:D:D:D:D
