Rest In Peace – Demonoid

I doubt that it will open perhaps under a new name, is the only way I see it, I have noticed that this is the begining torrentspy also stopped traffic in the United States and other sites have also stopped traffic in certain regions

this is the list of number ones worth mentioning

1 – Demonoid (Closed)
2 – lacorporacion (messed up) this site was next to demonoid in buying good lounge chill out cds…
3 – torrentspy (not the best search engine but good stuff (open only in certain regions)

I will not mention any more names because thats what got us in this shit in the first place….

i remember getting pissed off that in EBAY they where selling registrations and invites to demonoid, the reason i got upset wasnt because people wanted to make money or more people would be coming in to stress the server…

the reason i got upset is because i knew the site would drag attention form unwanted sources and so it did…. perhaps a little bit before that but still

USERS did not have responsibility
hence this is what happened

my say is respect the community share your stuff if you happen to be in a region where you can… keep things discreet….. that way the lifespan of torrents can expand….

in the end the people who happen to be in certain contries end up buying some of the stuff in its original form anyway for whatever reasons ….. quality in audio….
music collectors and the ones who dont well the way i see it.. is in certain contries where the price is higher for such items … in the end its all compensated…

i could go on talking crap all day lol but hey back to basics… looking for another number one site…

There are hundreds and hundreds of bit torrent sites. Closing demonoid does NOTHING to impair bit torrent downloads and uploads. The people bringing lawsuits against bit torrent sites will spend every day for the rest of their lives trying to shut these sites down. Think about this for a moment. What will they accomplish? The answer is NOTHING!…since there will ALWAYS be bit torrent sites. My message to Brein and the rest of those losers is GET A LIFE and do something productive. Do you REALLY want to waste every waking hour of every day of the rest of your life trying to shut down bit torrent sites? In the end, when you are old and gray, you will have regrets that your life was not spent on family, friends, and the enjoyment of making a difference in this world. We pick our battles and make our own bed, and you have picked the wrong battle, and the bed you lay in will never give you comfort.

HERE IS A FIX FOR OINK if you use mac

Temporary fix for Mac OS X, it requires some work in the Terminal. You need the admin password for your system for this. Make sure to enter all commands in bold correctly with the proper spaces and capitalization.

1. Open “Terminal” from your Applications / Utilities directory.

2. Type cd /private/etc and hit enter.

3. Time to edit the hosts file, we will use VIM for it, which is a text editor for the console. You also need root privileges to edit the file because it is read only for normal users.
Type sudo vim hosts and hit enter. You will be asked for your admin password, enter it and hit enter, then VIM pops up.

4. You will see the content of the hosts file, first few lines are comments with # in the front, then 3 entries, do NOT touch these. Navigate to the last line with your cursor keys and then to the right till the cursor is behind the localhost entry

5. Now you need VIM to go into edit mode, do this by hitting i

6. VIM is in insert mode now, hit enter for a new line and type
85.17.40.69 tracker.oink.me.uk

If you want you can add the following lines too, in case you encounter trouble with IRC or the website. Hit enter after each line for a new one
85.17.40.71 oink.me.uk
85.17.40.70 irc.oink.me.uk

7. Time to leave edit mode now, do so by hitting the escape key.

8. Back in viewing mode, now you need to save the file. You can do this by typing :w and hitting enter, VIM will tell you something like “hosts (number of lines) written”.

9. Now you need to exit VIM. Type :q and hit enter, you will be back at the terminal.

10. Almost done, now you need to tell the OS to use the content of the new hosts file.
Type sudo niload -v -m hosts .
