I also agree that this is a good idea, if they can trim down to be less painful on the resources than many more home grown trackers can begin to exist and getting rare or unknown content will become easier! At least ideally

I think this kind of thing is a great idea and should be encouraged, because with the amount of file sharing aps going down or getting taken over, there’s a need for ongoing replacements.

But what about bandwidth costs, that’s what concerns me. Who can or will absorb those costs?

Perhaps if many people were doing it, costs could be shared or absorbed by ISPs? I don’t understand it much.

If all you’re using and relying on is the 10-15 major players of BT index sites, then YOU are a total n00b with no hope. The real gold is found among the myriad small and unknown (at least to you) BT sites. More of those are always welcome.

Would love to run my own tracker… esp since I live in Sweden… and have PHP programming experience.

The thing is, dont know where to find a host… and how much trouble i can get for doing it.. an article on that would be really helpful to people like me. Anyone else reading this too can of course recommend/suggest ideas or links where I can read up on it.
