Despite the fact that I've been able to download torrents of all the albums I ever owned that were ripped off or lost 'for free,' I still buy CD's of the really exceptionally good ones when I can find them, just to pay tribute to the artists. A large percentage of that stuff is not even 'in print' any more, like obscure but fantastic 60's jazz that is so good that it ought to be easily available on CD. But if you want to buy it it would have to be ordered over the net and prices are ridiculously high. If you want the commercial best sellers from the artist you could buy the best of but then you are not going to get ASCENSION on the best of Coltrane albums are you?
I's the record companies' own fault for only caring about herding innocent people (mostly the young) into liking crappy comercial trite pop music when they should know themselves that the music and lifestyle totally sucks. They say that they have to do that in order to survive... well then why is pirating good music wrong. People who put music on the pirate bay are not rich and simply wish to share good music and films with others who would never even get to hear it otherwise. For example the music and films of Frank Zappa have never been heard or seen by 98 percent of Musicians in thailand, Indonesia and India. Here is one of most creative and funny individuals in the history of mankind and one third of the world's musicians have never even heard of him. There is something really sick about not encouraging all good music to be heard by every other musician on the planet. Its just too bad that we can't download expensive pharmaceuticals over bittorrent, now thats something to work towards! can't you just see the capsules freely pooting out into a special little mouse dish?
By the way i am a professional musician, composer and have produced many bands and recordings and found that the record Labels won't even listen to it unless you know someone to coerce them into it by friendly or family leverage. And then if they decide that if it would be difficult to market, even if its good they won't even try. Luckily in the 60s and 70s things were not so plastic. I am delighted to put all my stuff on Pirate Bay and let people download it for free.
All the money i ever made off of in music was in live performances. Its hard work and you might not make billions but then I ask you what gives anyone the right to make Billions by sitting on their butts and milking other talented individuals? It has given me a relatively easy life and an early retirement in asia, where things are way cheaper. At least I never had to cheat anyone or rip anyone off. If the big artists and the industry pigs are concerned about this torrent stuff who really gives a hoot? Sorry slimeballs and ROGERS pigfaces etc., the world has to move forward and not be intimidated by your fake attempts to pretend that you are in the right.
Thank you Lord Lucas... i was very surprised and delighted to hear.

So if the industry doesn’t fulfill your every dream, that makes it okay, to just steal from them?

Pretty much, yeah. We're pirates you stupid ass. You keep saying it yourself. That's what we do. If we had a chance, we'd steal from you too and then make you walk the plank. I'd personally want to shish-kabob my sword right up your stinkin ass and out your mouth along with the shit that comes out of it. But my sword would probably get tangled and stuck with the mad rush of everyone else's in the same direction.

...How do you like that clip from my hypothetical moviescript? Hahaaar, relax, it's only fiction.

What exactly are these things custemors wants?

Industry-insider volunteer-work for pirates in the way of things that are free and pirateable, laddy. Whatever have you. Dance the plank for our entertainment.

@\\.neo.styles|sSG - he said the industry took too long to offer these things, which is why piracy got as huge as it did today. They got offers to sell films online legally as early as 1999 but refused. Now what they are doing is too little too late and it is their fault.

Also, making a copy of something is not stealing, it's copyright infringement. Copyright infringement isn't illegal, it's a civil charge, like breaking a contract.

Get your facts right.
