This is already being done by a product called Nomad. We use it at the company that I work at right now. We get stuff out to 190 remote locations in the time span of 2-3 hours. We are a 4500 seat company too.

Honestly, I was wondering how long it would take for and idea like this to take hold and be implemented…

Since each updated system is then able to update to others, you have exponential update speed, rather than the linear of olden-days. Time becomes logarithmic, and any beginning CS student can tell you that logarithmic time is leagues better than linear for large datasets. (Large numbers of computers, in this case)

Other commercial companies that make software deployment apps have this technology for at least 3 years ago.

So, its a nice solution you built here, but by no means its a technological breakthrough.

Yeah, I just had my Insight account disabled a week or so ago. I just had to call them and get it turned back on. The tech told me that all I would have to do is turn off seeding and I wouldn’t have any more problems.

There is already a faster, greener and overall just better solution to do just this and its part of Internet Protocol.

Its called multicast, look it up.
