No need to work harder, you can manufacture copies yourself with your own property, as people filesharing do.

This is an unsubstantiated guess from your side. In reality it’s more likely no way near 100%, since usually grown-up’s are the subscribers, while it’s the teenagers that performing the filesharing for the household need. Grown-up’s are not legally responsible for teenagers eventual copyright infringements.

The fact that some people are pissed have no relevance to Darkwiz666′s comment. That some grudging people are pissed does not equal that other people must share the morality of the pissed of person. That some people are pissed does not mean that copying is theft.

Of course people feel entitled to their own property, which they make copies with. They own their own property. They are indeed entitled to it.

No, that’s not a problem, at least not a copyright related problem or a socially cultural problem.

Second, you never pay for a game/movie/album, you pay for the copy. If you manufacture the copy yourself there’s obviously nothing to pay for, so there’s no conflict between enjoying an intellectual work and considering it to be good, and not paying.

But that’s not copyright? Copyright has never been about privileging the author with an absolute copyright monopoly out of principle, and they never have been either. What you believe in is something completely different than copyright, something that actually doesn’t exist in reality. That’s probably why your opinions and conclusions about filesharing are so illogical and irrelevant.

Back in the day my brother bought halflife 2. But he had too much trouble with the DRM so he torrented a cracked version, which worked better than the paid for version (as in, it worked at all).

So, I agree, you cant count the numbers in the swarms and think they are all pirates – its a distribution platform, and people use it for different reasons.
