As for logging IP activity…one word… troubleshooting and statistics! People gotta get off the crack or something with the conspiracy sh*t… Without logs he’d have no idea what the hell was going on in his company… He wouldn’t know where things were broken, or bottlenecked, or if his company was doing well or not… little things like that are important to a company… oh, and you know, making sure hackers haven’t done a hostile takeover of resources… He’s working with more bandwidth than the country his company is based in afterall…

It is an IP CLOUD NETWORKING company… the nature of this company being the constant and smooth flow of IP data packets throughout the cloud… Ever try to deliver a pizza to a house without an address or streetlights or a streetsign and the people who ordered the pizza keep on going to different houses yelling MARCO POLO PIZZA GUY!!!! It’s a bit like that! :)

so yeah, IP logging is a crucial part of the Mega framework… always has been, always will be… If you don’t want IP logs exposing your privacy then protect your damned self… wrap that shit! It’d be like blaming a hooker for giving you the clap… just saying…

If he -did- revive megaupload, I’m sure he would ditch the old .com address, after seeing how much abuse goes on when you register domain with US-based registrars.

At least with other country TLDs, there is still an obstacle to stop some rogue US cunts from stealing your domain.

Most countries have similar laws to the DMCA. But these takedown schemes aren’t really effective anyway.

Therefore cyberlockers and usenet-providers had to store and hand out the IP-addresses of the downloaders so they can be prosecuted like it is the case in p2p-networks or the uploaders had to register with their verified postal address or passport.
