This actually really annoys me. These corporations are very quick to jump on the BitTorrent bandwagon when they are trying to hit us with their advertising opportunities in the hopes of making a bit of cash, but where are they when like in the case of TPB the shit hits the fan.

When you buy you also support the artist, it’s not all about those companies, bands work hard on their music ,how woud you like to work at your job and make no money? Sure they do what they love but their just lucky. A lot of avg people work the job they love. so don’t encourage people to not buy. thats just lame.

Just goes to show that bittorent users prove to be a good target of advertising. I torrent (at least I used to before my isp wouldn’t allow p2p speeds above 1 kilobyte a second) now Im on megaupload and rapidshare for the time being. And yet, I have literally hundreds of legally purchased dvds, games and books. Half the time I just pick a dvd cheap even though I could simply download it for free in a few hours.

As for RIAA, they’re well known they seriously rip-off their lesser artists, with absurd contracts, the amount of money that goes to the bands from CD sales is negligible.

I find that a bit unfair towards “the starving artist”, so you are wrong about that. But you are also a bit right what concerns the RIAA, MPAA the IFPI and many others for instance Brein in Holland. They are the ones fueling this war. They don’t wanna lose their jobs, so they bottomfeed.

In my model these organisations will be the only ones affected by jobloss.

Always when you buy music. You support RIAA, MPAA, IFPI financial. Shorter you give money to RIAA, MPAA, IFPI. If you want see those 3 go down, don’t give them any money. Don’t ever buy always download free. You save much money and RIAA,MPAA,IFPI got much less money to lobby and bribe politicians and new copyright laws. I have not bought music in 15 years and I will never buy and pay for music. When RIAA, MPAA, IFPI are dead I might start buy but not before.
