[...] We’ve featured ways to download torrents remotely before, such as with Dropbox—unfortunately, that method requires that you actually download the file to sync it via Dropbox. That’s fairly simple, but if you’re on a computer where you can’t install Dropbox, copying and pasting is simpler. By creating a custom RSS feed in ReactorFeed and having your torrent client monitor it at home, you can begin torrent downloads instantly just by adding a torrent’s link to your feed. Because it’s all done on the web with simple copying and pasting, you can add torrents from anywhere—your work computer, a friend’s computer, or even your smartphone. You can even make your feed public, if you so choose, so your friends with similar tastes can check out what you’re downloading, or run multiple feeds to share with different people or keep certain ones private. Not a bad tool for getting your BitTorrent fix when you’re away from your computer. ReactorFeed [via TorrentFreak] [...]

For those that think dropbox is a bad idea for the copyright stuff, all it does it load a torrent and then utorrent deletes that torrent. Last time I checked, torrents weren't copyrighted material.

@13 It also has an iphone app so you can download shit at home from your iphone.

Not everyone can (or wants to) setup a gui. ReactorFeed is no replacement for those solutions, but a simple way of handling a common problem, by simply using a miniature web interface. If you need more than just adding capabilities, there are solutions a plenty, but for adding alone, this just is the most simple way to do it.

I`ve been using transmission-daemon and flexget for months and its truly a great combination for my small home server(sheevaplug). If i want to torrent something while in work, school or friends place, i just fire up winscp and send the torrent to watch folder or fire up putty and copy the torrent url directly to transmission-daemon thru transmission-remote.

With flexget i can get favourite series and movies automatically with preconfigured rules.

It takes a little bit to set up but its definately worth the trouble.

Mininova's personal feeds were one of the best aspects of the site. I cant believe more sites don't have this feature. The dropbox idea is good, even though it's been floating round now for some time (props as ever to lifehacker!), but afaik, utorrent only picks up torrents from one directory, meaning you cant mix and match auto-adding solutions, ie. shared network folders etc, plus its harder to add torrents from someone elses computer. This new site looks promising - but i'll reserve judgement till i've tried it.

When I heard of dropbox in the past I was thrilled. After I read this no way this is coming near my pc. dro pbox.com/privacy
Dropbox has adopted and implemented a policy that permits the deletion of files that violate copyright policy, and that permits the termination in appropriate circumstances of the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe or are believed to be or are charged with repeatedly infringing the rights of copyright holders. Please see the Dropbox Copyright Policy for further information
& no privacy = fku

SpiderOak.com
Your SpiderOak data is readable to you alone. Most online storage systems only encrypt your data during transmission, meaning anyone with physical access to the servers your data is stored on (such as the company's staff) could have access to it. Or, even if your data is encrypted during storage, your password (or set of encryption keys) is often stored along with your data, thus making its easily decoded by anyone with local access to those servers.

With SpiderOak, you create your password on your own computer -- not on a web form received by SpiderOak servers. Once created, a strong key derivation function is used to generate encryption keys using that password, and no trace of your original password is ever uploaded to SpiderOak with your stored data.

SpiderOak's encryption is comprehensive -- even with physical access to the storage servers, SpiderOak staff cannot know even the names of your files and folders. On the server side, all that SpiderOak staff can see, are sequentially numbered containers of encrypted data.

I will definitely use this instead spideroak. I was going to use dropbox to backup pc but the thought about putting all my data where its public such as passwords and whatnot is equiv. to suicide by stupidity.

ReactorFeed is a personal feed creator. It does not mean you HAVE to use it for torrents. You can enter any URL, whatsoever. Yes TPB and other pages have personal RSS feeds, but thats the great thing about ReactorFeed, it's not tied to one site only.

The site is still in it's early beta and technically was not supposed to be released for another couple of weeks. Hope you guys enjoy :)

Ummm.......
Am I the only one that is seeing the hidden fee of dropbox?

Dropbox Pricing

Dropbox is free to use for up to 2GB of storage, the premium version ($199.99 per year) upgrades your storage to 100GB.

I use utorrent's Webui interface at work. Install Bittorrent WebUi addon for firefox and all you have to do is click on the .torrent file and it automatically loads at home. Couldn't be handier. I also use LogmeIn when I have to.

My dropbox and utorrent setup:
First I set the .torrent files to be downloaded to the "torrents" folder inside dropbox then set utorrent to automatically load and then delete the torrent files after being loaded. I can then use utorrent WebUI to track my torrents. Works like a charm everytime.
