I think the attitude of “Fuck the artists, the publishers,” etc, is ridiculous.

They made the product!!!!!!!!

The only way one can justify piracy is this: if you simply don’t have enough money to pay for the product and plan to pay for the product.

Otherwise you are a thief.

The commenter above who I’m quoting did admit to being a thief, but that is not a good thing.

But this is like stealing a glimpse at someone’s TV from the street — it doesn’t cost them and it helps you — ONLY IF YOU TRULY CAN’T AFFORD THE PRODUCT AND WILL BUY IT WHEN YOU HAVE THE MONEY.

Also, even if you can afford a product, if you use the dl to try and then go on to purchase if you like the product and then delete it if you do not like it and will not purchase it.

So, either you have to be poor or only use downloads as a preview to be sure about purchases.

Anything else is thievery and immoral.

I have spent the last 30 years working my arse off and getting nowhere..just going in circles realy because of the inflated cost of living.All they have done is made me realise how greedy they all are.I cannot even stand tuning into music shows anymore because all i see on the screen in large capital letters is “I AM A GREEDY MONEY HUNGRY LOST TOUCH WITH REALITY ROCK STAR WHO NEEDS ANOTHER ROLLS ROYCE TO ADD TO MY USELESS FLEET”.They make more money from one CD with two good songs on it than i make working in a steel factory in my lifetime..FUCK THEM.There all exposed for what they realy are.SLEAZEBAGS!How about a forklift driver of the year Grammy award..or Best Factory worker 2006..heres a few million..If i make a wooden table and sell it i profit once..If i record a song i make a million..then another million and it goes on and on..I say power to the battlers.I do not have a decent car,house,boat in fact about all i have is my computer..POWER TO THE BATTLERS!

I find I can still use the latest ver of e donkey2000 .Firstly disconect from net ,2 open software then 3 reconect to net it stll works just fine .

I’ve tried edonkey and p2p apps & I’ve noticed the following:
I downloaded tons of music, I listened it and I have deleted it, so it was like turning radio on, I listen the music for free, I choose the music by tunning channels. Am I right?
I deleted music after a while the files because music industry the sh*tty-greedy-one that allways have been.
I bought some CD of music that deserve it so almost all music are sh*t.
I’ve been wondering why don’t they improve instead of “kill” real listeners?.

so good bye good ideas to make celebrities been known.

Just to address a few comments. I don’t use eMule/Donkey or whatever as it’s never worked at all. If others can use it, fine. The network of course would still exist as with WinMX. There though people had to develop a plug-in to stay connected to the various networks. There’s not many using it now, but there’s many millions of files, as people began sharing their files more freely. Talk about your $20 CDs; well they’re like $35 or more here. Depends where you buy them. If in a poorer country, they’re a lot cheaper of necessity. You can bet they’re still profiting well however. I wouldn’t buy them here any more because with all the greed, the cost of living is now through the roof, and I couldn’t afford them. Besides that I wouldn’t be interested in most of their overpriced copy-protection crippled confection, and also the choices are limited to current markets, and I could never find anything I want, and I know is available even though they always tell me it’s out of print, or if not it may be imported for exorbitant cost. Through p2p we find a world of diversity.

PS I didn’t know there was a war between them and us. I just carry on regardless. Also it’s not so far-fetched that they would sue keyboard or monitor mfrs. All depends what they can get away with. The difference between guns and knives is that a knife has many uses, where guns are only made for one purpose; as a killing weapon. I don’t use or need one, or with certain types of people I would be too tempted to dispense a summary judgment, especially if they invaded my home.

Hmmm, well looks like RIAA is taking this to war.

I agree with Joseph though, that just because these guys created the software to make file sharing easier, shouldn’t mean ther’re responsible for what people share. Why not sue the guys who make your keyboard or processor? Couldn’t share files without those either.

Of course, no one wants to be short-changed from the music they make, but let’s face it: Justin Timberlake, Limp Bizkit, and 50 Cent, etc. aren’t exactly in the poor house. I can’t feel much sympathy for these guys when they can only afford one mansion and two Bentleys. In their world, we’d pay for every file we share or something. I dunno what the goal is. If anything, I’m glad music pirates have forced the industry to take a serious look at file sharing even if it’s only forced them to consider alternatives to $20 cds.

eDonkey 1.4.3b is still alive and well. I get the same speeds like a week ago there’s no diference. Don’t be confused between the eDonkey program and the eDonkey network, RIAA closed down the edonkey site, distribution of the client etc… NOT THE EDONKEY NETWORK but like i said eDonkey 1.4.3b is still working without any problems. Why i insisst with the 1.4.3b version ? Because any other version after that can be closed down remotely by MetaMachine. So if eMule is still up EDONKEY WILL BE UP TOO!!!

The RIAA and similar cartels should work to bring down the cost of music and video media so that everybody would not think twice of paying for it. Guys on the street pay for an entire crappy album with one or two good tracks recorded on a piece of plastic worth less than 1 cent!!!! We are the ones being ripped so that the artists and industry executives can have 3 million dollar homes, lay 10 girlfriends and drink 200-dollar champagne!!!! What can be done to stop the torrent (no pun intended) of p2p clients from becoming just another victory for the RIAA? People will trade the files they want, and for some damn reason the Supreme Court is holding the companies who make these clients responsible, even though they cannot control the actions of the users of the clients.

A knife enables me to kill someone, yet I use knives everyday in my job and no one has taken me to court just because I am enabled to do so, and I’ve not heard of the families of murder victims take the knife manufacture to court (although some families are trying to get laws passed that would make gun manufacturers liable for what their guns do in the hands of their customers).
