Yes he is correct and should take over EMI and fix it. Everything he says is 100% correct. Most pirates are starting to move to these services. It will take time as the RIAA have made such bad press people fear music compaines! One of the reasons I am hanging back is I fear they will ruin it in some crazy RIAA plot.

This guy could really help fix the music industry he could be their Steve Jobs. They have been told the service side was key at a fair price because a customer signs on long term for over a decade now by customers.

The problem is the RIAA need rained in and funding cut...if they were so smart they would not have been suing people but leading the foundation of technology like Spotify. In all these years RIAA have ruined the music companies names so people look on them like some kind of parasite middle man - but that is not really the case. I have known people who work for them they work their ass off to bring music to you.

Copyright law is also broken and needs sorted out. It is currently just not working...so pointless in the current form. The copyright people need to give something to get something back it is not a one way street some of them seem to think it should be.

I have been crunching the numbers and the money spent on bt donations, seed boxes, VPN's, cyber lockers, usenet, site subscriptions to name but a few costs of file sharing in 2012...shows people want to pay but the services are all wrong for them.

So if you believe this start lobbying the EMI board to make you CEO.

Im a 18 year old kid who lives in washington and i love to watch things such as bleach and soul eater which are animes like dragon ball z and other real lifeish movies such as R.E.D. and others. 3 reasons i wont go out and buy them is 1 they arnt sold in the us. 2 they are $20 plus which i could afford but would leave me with no money to get my gym membership or other such misc thing like extra schooling. and 3 its simply too much of a hassle to drive 50+ miles from home and back to go to the only stores that MIGHT have what im looking for. this has led me to using sites like animeready and other video hosting sites because they speak english or atleast have english subtitles in the movies im after. i would gladly take my business to the big bad record companys if they lowered there prices by like $5 or had a non bs copyright usage protection digital download and got rid of the regionalization crap. half the things i want are usually lock into a specific region requireing me to use my mad haks and loophole work arounds to play 1 movie or episode of a series. as such the companys should take this as a general way of how things work. if i cant get it from you i will get it from someone else. if their is no one else which is unlikly i will get the file/dvd and hak and crack it for myself like any other geeky kid in the us who hates the media monopoly empires. take note however that i do not distribute my cracked content as i would rather not be copyright sued for 6 millon + $$$ because i swept aside your failist protections as under my count i have broke the copyright law at least 40+ times in pursuit of reasonablely cheap reliable media and or overpriced CDs which arnt worth the plastic they are printed on and possibly slid my close friends a copy or 2 of my work. HOWEVER back to the main point of my little ramble if the media mega corporations WANT the people to buy their stuff and not go hackin and crackin and downloading for and from other people they need to fix their distribution services. and key to point if they some how get anything remotely related to sopa or other bs anti-piracy crap like that and f up the internet in the process... i will first cry for a day or 2, rant and fume and get worked up, and then spite them in their greedy faces like a million other hackers on this planet and get their over priced crap, hack and crack, burn to my own cds/dvds and distribute to my friends like my dad did before me. May the internet live long and prosper.

I second your entire comment!

In the past year alone, I've bought something like 160 games on Steam, many of them from their huge summer sales. The funny thing is I already had cracked versions of a lot of these games, but I still bought them. Why ? Because Steam makes it too damned easy to do! No need to hunt down cracked updates, no virus risk, no ratios to worry about, and no multiplayer restrictions. I'm not too cheap to buy good products, I'm just opposed to the retail system.

Driving/bussing to a store, business hours, dealing with obnoxious staff, low inventory... why waste two hours of my life when I can take 30 seconds to buy it online and 15 minutes to download it right into my PC ? Heck, installing the same game from a DVD often takes longer!

With music and movies, it should be even easier since the items are cheaper and the files are smaller. iTunes makes it pretty easy, but being an Apple platform does alienate quite a lot of people, clients and publishers alike. The RIAA/MPAA need to fire their goddamned lawyers and replace them with a bunch of geeks and usability analysts.
