I think they wanted to do both. Make a movie which they knew was crap and then go after the copyright violators once they had some stooge to intentionally release a copy before it even premiered officially.;

They're following Voltage Pictures and some porn makers in this "strategy."

That's just it, most of what 'gets id'd' isn't, and to identify an actual monitoring client, it takes roughly 9 hours per batch, and that's assuming you know who the monitoring company is, so you know what kind of bot to look for.

Of course, that's only my experience, from doing it to court standards. I'm sure those guys that do it so you can pay them are 'much quicker'. I mean they've got no motive to just slap any old IP address in, have they?

Nope, sorry,
It's something I for one have looked at for many years. Blocklists do not work. Have never worked, and will never work.
They rely on a few assumptions in order to work. Unfortunately, those assumptions are false.

A Majority of the 'big blocklist' providers now have ties with the very groups they claim to block. Mainly because it makes it easier to monitor them, if you can block half the potential IP's, thus hearding them onto their monitoring bots. Secondly, because anyone who can't see why the underlying assumptions are false, they're probably not going to understand what a notice actually, realistically means either. Blocklist users are the real low-hanging fruit because they're the ones with just enough information to get everything wrong.

There's a reason why pretty much every single bittorrent expert says that any block-list you can download, is one you shouldn't use.

And remind us all why we should trust some random group, that puts IP's into a text file and then sticks a company name by them.

if you have a vpn then you don't even need that stuff.

unless the vpn provider is bad and keeps logs or something, in which case i go back to my previous argument that those blockers are useless since there is a time when you aren't protected, however little it is its still there.

No, they don't.
And you want to know something else? Torrent poisoning has never worked. Mainly because dealing with it (or rather it's effects) has been part of the bittorrent spec since day1.

No that's why the RIAA & MPAA pay online monitoring firm like Dtecnet.US 2 get a court order against your ISP (providing they know your real ISP assigned IP address) to tell them who you are and where you live.also depends on the laws in your country but i know in some places it's that bad.

u are right about There maybe a one a 1-5 hour time gap & if ur behind a no logs VPN then your fine anyways if your going 2 use a VPN then u must not use certain block-lists.ur VPN provider isn't going 2 be on the anti P2P logs unless they are providing survives for a company that engages in anti P2P behavior, I never ever said in my original post that IP blocking was full proof protection especially on it's own!I I meant reasonable 2 good. also i said u have 2 enhance it's protection by loading it up with certain lists & in combination with a VPN is reasonable good protection, well results speak for themselves haven't gotten a DCMA ever.
