When I say it won’t do me any good (and others) I simply meant in regards to it’s genre (I’m just not one to watch horror movies :c), and the fact I don’t have any interest in making such a thing myself. I imagine it would be a great free resource, mostly for people wanting to get into the scene, having some nice project files to manipulate!

I’ll skip the dog, I’ve already gotten to see an ultra cute lady in the video above the comment section, I can live with that (lol).

But no, seriously, it’s great to see things like this popup and I’m all for hoping you’ll be able to do the second film and release the first without any hitches.

Well, here’s your chance. Think of my offer as a proof of concept for a new paradigm. Let’s call it a crowd-sourced distribution offer. I made a little film that had some festival recognition, but was too small to qualify for the old paradigm. I’m in a sort of weird position where I get the arguments from both sides. At the end of the day, I’m a girl that did something pretty fucking awesome that people will never see… unless, there’s some sort of new thing. It’s like a farmer’s market for film. You’re the audience, I’m the creator and we’re here talking without any bullshit between us. You invest a little in me, and I make more shit that you guys love. Easy, right? Realistically, you guys know that nobody is buying a sports car or getting new teeth off the $30,000 I’m asking for. We’re making a fucking movie!!! Yay!!! You want a new paradigm? Well, here it is bitches. Imagine this: I finish my second film, and I have to weigh an offer for a DVD release against a crowd-sourced distribution offer to put the whole film into the public domain. I just want to make more movies. But we have to start small people…

Weeeeelll, if you hate my film, then at least you can re-edit it into something less despicable and more appealing to your tastes! You’re right about Hollywood having to pre-suppose what the possibility of income generated will be. I’m super lucky that all I have to do is not offend censorship, and I can essentially make any kind of movie I want. Impossible in the market-oriented system of the more developed world. If I wanted to make an artistic movie about reincarnated people coming into self awareness and tracking down their former relationships, but realizing that re-birth was an opportunity to not dwell in the past, unsettled business or not, that could never fly in a normal film industry. Here? Sure, why not. I’m going to make a movie about people getting rescued by dogs in a dystopian vampire society if I ever find a budget that’s workable for that! HA!

Luckily, I’m not a part of any functioning economy system yet. I scraped together $5,000 to make my first movie, and every cent went into the production of it. There was no middleman to pay, everything was earned and spent by the film on the film. I can understand how someone downloading a film might feel like paying for content doesn’t actually go to support the artist, since in the Western world, such a small portion actually goes back to the artist and the actual production. I feel very fortunate that because we don’t have any kind of established film market, industry, or system, that this is not the case for us. I also feel excited that despite those conditions that I make films under, that an interested audience does exist out there (you guys!) and that people who were previously vilified as pirates are coming out to show their support for an ultra indie filmmaker like me. I’m amazed by it, and really honored. I’m so glad that the internet can make this possible, and that I can have a direct link to audiences and viewers. This feels like a solution to me, and it feels like some imaginary wall between content creator and viewers is being whittled away piece by piece!

Yep! Paypal was added! I hope you enjoy my film if it goes public domain. It would have been super valuable for me to have had a film to dissect like that when I first started this whole filmmaking adventure too.
