What ever happened to ‘innocent until proven guilty’. The idea of due process seems to have gone out the window. Surely the idea of law is to take a company or individual to court, then ‘prove’ by considered debate or arguement that a law has been broken? In a free society the actions of those charged are ultimately judged by their peers, members of the same society with an impartial view. Has this changed in America? Are we now seeing a country that removes balance from the judicial system and dictates in favour of one sector of industry without the individual’s right to redress? Is this no longer considered unconstitutional?

Is this not the very definition of a dictatorship?

The entertainment industry thinks its like walking into a store and stealing? to me its like they walked into this country our United States of america and stole our RIGHTS! Unions for visual effect artist? really says something about how the Movie industry really is like sound like big budget studios steal from Movie industry Artist.

Although, Movie industry Artist might feel affraid to speak out due to the potential of there not being a job tomorrow “Hollywood is a tight knit community” black sheeps are fround upon. The world is a larger community the people and inovative people hold the power.

I congradulate Filmmakers Jamin Winans and Kiowa Winans of the movie INK who EXCEPTED the P2P community. BAMM!! Hollywood eat that!

The only problems I see are a) people always want free stuff, but the reality of it is nothing is free. But, for the people who would pay 20 bucks for say 10 movies a month legally, they would be making money off of the ones who previously were watching them free with the risk.
b) as I work in a rental store, I could see it hurting business there, but with rental stores already going down in business and going bankrupt, it cant really hurt it more. People will still rent movies if they want to watch it on their big screen surround sound home system, or don’t want to sit at a computer to watch it.
So even with those issues, I don’t see much of a downfall.
Give the people who work hard on the sites a percent of the income from it, and the gov can make their money as well.

IMO, the gov should just allow an internet movie service, working with a few of the top hosting sites, and charge it as a part of your internet bill (for those who want it).
People pay extra on cable bills for hbo etc, why not say tack on an extra 20 a month or so to those who want to watch these movies in their own homes? Have some limit so that its not like 20 bucks = 2000 movies, but you could watch a few that you really would like to see.
Have them up when they are released in theaters, good quality, so the people who can’t always afford the luxury of going out to the movies, or just don’t want to endure a theater, can enjoy it instead of waiting for it to come out on dvd. If they like it, most are still going to buy the movie.
Granted, free sites will always exist, but for the peace of mind that the site is legal, for a fraction of the price it would cost going out all the time to the theaters, many people would go this route I believe.
