First HD-DVD Movie Leaked Onto BitTorrent
Written by Smaran on January 14, 2007The HD-DVD has been cracked, and high definition content is now being distributed freely over BitTorrent. We all knew this would happen sooner or later, looks it was “sooner”. The first HD-DVD to be uploaded to BitTorrent is Serenity, the Firefly movie.
It hasn’t even been a month since the HD-DVD ripper, BackupHDDVD was released and we’re already seeing high definition feature films pop up on torrent sites. Other than Serenity, it is rumoured that HD-DVDs of the movies Batman Begins, Chronicles of Riddick, 12 Monkeys and King Kong have been decrypted and consequently shown up on torrent sites. Yesterday, a handful of hackers figured out how to extract the unique volume key from HD-DVDs.
According to HDTV Blogger, the torrent is “a 19.6GB file in native EVO format that should play on PowerDVD and WinDVD with HD DVD playback.” Apparently, he got a “very, very nasty email” after posting about the first HD-DVD torrent. It seems the anonymous mailer was upset at the fact that he was bringing unnecessary attention to the P2P community. Looks like his plan just backfired.
The anonymous mailer also claims that HDTV Blogger is violating the BitTorrent site’s copyright by posting a screenshot of the site. “By posting that screencap you have violated the copyright of the tracker by posting an image and text that is own by them. You should remove the screencap before legal action is taken upon you.” - is this guy for real?

Farscape u have a nice point. we live in the world of corruption. They make too much money of us we try not to pay. If they would lower prices we can lower downloads, and start buying them HD stuff. Walmart is being ript all the time. thats fine. no one has the right to punish anyone. We need a Agreement here not a WAR. Download as much as possible and give no money that u work hard for. peace
The fight is not worth it. we want everithing possible not just one.thats monopoly. scream for competition. want the one that can beter serv me. compete u bitchy formats and companies. who knows how to search for a torrent and gets it deserves it and use it. these companies are big already they need money only for waht they spend and maintnence cot to get fat. there are people that starve and ill those need us to fight for. not for sony and microshit they are fine. love the world you are in and make it better. thats what we need. if we die tomorow who cares about BR And HD-DVD.
EUROPA horay
hmmm, so if HD-DVD is rippable now…u think film companies will start to release their films on Blu-Ray…to avoid piracy?

Listen up about this HDDVD vs. Blu-Ray
iwe done my reaserch, and the facts right now are:
-HDVD has superior quality
-HDDVD is cheaper in every way, has allways been, not gonna change
-Blu-ray has more capasity as storage, but when it comes to movies, a 60gb movie is still inferier qulaity compared to 20gb HDVD, that says something (Blu-ray is using bad codec, dont know why…)
-Blu-ray has more backup from companys (so fucking what, when everyone realises HDDVD is better the support WILL change) will be better for storage on computers i guess
Yes, you fucking sony fagfanboys, Blu-ray will be better than HDVD in 4-7years when they develop their hardware, and will be better than HDVD when that time comes, but SUPRIES SUPRISE in 5years it will be old shit, by then the NEXT GENERATION disc has arrived, i personally would wait for that allready but yes, there will be a so called HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc) with storage capacity to 3.9 Tera bytes… support that instead. i smell quality!
*HDDVD
I think buying is always good. I prefer to have a legal, good quality copy.
I also think $1 per movie is fair.
Movie Collectors would likely pay thousands more dollars collecting all the stuff they ever wanted. Anyway, thats one view, as naive as may be.
PLUS++ THERE IS SOFTWARES OUT THAT LETS YOU HAVE HD FILTERS MEANING YOU CAN CONERT A DVD TO A HD-DVD.
PEACE AND I DONT GIVE A SHIT!!
what blank dvds would i buy to copy a film onto it ?
dvd-r’s dont work.
HMM let’s see, maybe Dvd– inseated of Dvd-r.
make sure your dvd player does accept dvd– format.
WTF? “HMM lets see, maybe dvd- instead of dvd-r” are you an idiot or what? you can put movies on dvd-r/+r/rw/single layer/dual layer.. its your player that has to be able to handle the different types. majority of players can easily play -r, that is the most popular.
i need a http://hdbits.org and/or http://www.bit-hdtv.com account magiruscu@gmail.com
