If this is the case then maybe future sites will no longer be available directly in the UK and US (VPN required for access). Not only will sites no longer be hosted in the UK/US but money for VPN access will flow out of their economies. Some interesting unexpected consequences. A lot of tech savvy people host their data where they see the best protection from oppressive regimes, they vote with their money.

I don’t recall Google being taken down when it was under criminal investigation in 2011. Maybe I just missed it?
