KISS was a monumental band in the 1970′s — today we have a little more high tech methods of obtaining our favorite tunes without having to purchase an entire album.

Who said it didn’t happen then? The difference? If you wanted a song bad enough, you bought the best metal cassette tape you could afford, call up the local radio station, and make a request to play whatever tune. Just a matter of hitting “play” and “record” buttons at the same time, and voila!!!

I can’t think of one single person from my era who didn’t have SEVERAL mixed tapes that they carefully and painstakingly recorded and dubbed off of the free radio network. Seems to me, no one in the music industry went bankrupt then because of this alleged form of piracy—-can’t see it’s going to be much different today; it’s just a different network!

If it’s the music industry’s time to die, then it’s time for it to die, Gene. It will be replaced by some other multi-headed monster, which will need slaying too, and the cycle will continue indefinitely, or until people wise up and realize that music should be free. :) But seriously, the industry is deeply flawed, and if the fans think it needs to die, it should die.
