I never thought those torrent thingees would cause so much concern... let the DenialOfService to the poor and impoverished of the world begin!!! I can't believe that authorities have it in for the information starved masses. My general belief is that governments are interested in not allowing a information and entertainment poverty to develop as they genuinely care about their citizens. A far better option for governments than "Raids" and seizures etc is to pay for the services through taxes. I heard something when I was living in Italy that the Canadian Government does this for their citizens and pays Entertainment companies something through taxation for the downloading etc. I think that approach is something I hope Italia will adopt and other countries to keep the information and entertainment playing field equal. Often the poor have to make a choice between an internet connection and other services and it's truly helpful for governments to work with the Entertainment companies to pay some taxes for the information. I've never used a torrent before but I do support their use and hope that those who are below the standard of living that allows for participation in popular culture will be aided and assisted by governments all over the world who genuinely want to ensure their citizens and fellow countrypersons have a better quality of life.
Not a good idea at all, don't be petty, just buy the software you're stealing, if you want it to get better its the only thing to do.

I would say that it's most likely that any attacks will be treated as a criminal offence, and they will prosecute you, all over the world it's illegal to interfere in police investigations, and there's no reason you cannot be charged with that if you start to attack thier equipment.

This was a long time coming, thepiratebay is an illgal site, wether you enjoy to use it or not isn't the issue here, the admin are engaging in criminal activities, many other sites will follow, and the police will succeed.

You should just give up, let them do what they need to, anyone who complains they cannot afford something is totally missing the point, you wouldn't go into your local shop and steal shopping, and you shouldn't be stealing of software publishers either, the authorities will win this argument, there is too much money to loose, even if you do attack them with childish tactics they will still get their own way.

I say good on them, anyone who partakes in the writing of software will think exactly the same way....

Technically, you would need a computer the same size and speed to DDoS the netowrks you're talking about, and most probably in the same DC, I dunno about the sweedish police, but USA and UK police forces are going to need a lot more than a few pissed off teenagers with some bodged and years old DDoS programs to even make any difference to their operation, all you're doing is making your own life hard, DDoS attacks are tracable to your IP, and your ISP has a record of your ip address for the life of your service.
If I could avoid getting in trouble for it I would use my computer to help a DDOS attack on them.

There should be no copyright-at least as far as being the government's job. If i was in a band I would support no copyrights it cause it could make your music pretty popular if it's free, and then you could make money from live performances.
We need a torrent client that downloads while DOS'ing all the RIAA/MPAA and other agencies IP's because the ip is public knowledge it would prolly be easy to find but the best part is since BT makes like i think its almost 1/2 the internet we could take them down easy no matter how good their connection and computer is XD ... although if anyone remembers makelovenotspam the screensaver that DOS'd spammers it killed some internet backbones or something and apparently the company had to shutdown or be sued cuz DOS'ing isnt very legal but in the case of BT its not like they can have a class action against like billions of people... But do we really want to lower ourselves to their level O.o
This is the day and age when people are going to have to fight for freedom of information.
