61 percent of business owners do not trust cloud services with their personal data. The primary reason is not privacy or security. Having guaranteed 24/7/365 access to their personal data is the number 1 reason, followed by security and privacy. If that cloud service hosting company should happen to fail, and another company purchases their assets, the private user data could easily be sold for enough money to retire on. Do you trust a third party entity with your life? It is the same reason I refuse to be an organ donor. If I get whacked by a big vehicle that runs a red light at an intersection, and the paramedics see that I am a donor, do you honestly believe they would rather 'potentially' heal me for $20,000+ USD, or let me die and collect an easy $100,000 for my organs?

I don't think it's a realistic threat, though. In fact when studies surmise that piracy actually HELPS the industry, surely that point is moot - more sales means they are more likely to create. Can you address any of the studies which have concluded thus?

Maybe in today's economic climate, that wouldn't be sensible to do unless you can afford fewer sales (i.e. not due to piracy).

I think that studies have proven already that piracy doesn't affect profits, so if you do go ahead and try, don't look to pirates for an excuse that it was terrible - look in the mirror.

Why should you profit from someone else's work? If someone is buying a pirated copy from you they're paying money for it, that money should go to the creator.

It is not the same as downloading it for free to try it for example. Instead it's a lazy person profiteering from someone else's work and often ripping off someone who was led to believe they were getting the genuine thing (only to be landed with non-genuine warnings and penalising from Microsoft).

Important to note this is a different matter to maybe downloading and burning a film for a friend and asking for a few cent for your time and the DVDs, because they can't/won't do it themselves. But remember, those people should appreciate when they like a good thing, and pay for it if they like it.
