its obviously (http://en.gandi.net/) they famously worked with trident media guard. or softlayer (www.softlayer.com) as they host the city of london takedowns and have a website called (110tb.com) (the size of bandwith they have available to them).

but these are just guesses, but i would say softlayer as they are the most arrogant.

i would not be surprised in the least if the copyright industry is at the center of many recent ddos attacks, including this one. they accuse, harass, and persecute those they claim violate the law. yet they themselves ignore the law and abuse the system on a daily basis. the copyright trolls, hollywood and the recording industry are becoming a massive, global mafia. ┌∩┐(-_-)┌∩┐ copyright watchdogs. they will not win this battle, for with every act of oppression, they are empowering the pirate community to fight back. we will beat them at their own game, for we are smarter, stealthier and more resourceful. and there are a hell of a lot more of us than there are of them. if they want to create a “mob rules” mentality, i’ve got a message for them: be careful what you wish for.

Even without a botnet it’s easy to flood a site using the many amplification attacks such as the NTP mon_list and some DNS type attacks. So pretty much anyone can generate a lot of traffic at the moment.

If as the story say’s multiple French sites are being attacked, rather than them all falling down as a shared router is overloaded from one site being attacked, then it makes sense for this to be media corp related.
