It appears that Hotfile may have lied about the records it kept of downloads prior to the filing of the lawsuit. The plaintiffs have produced copies of email which include the name of the last file downloaded by a premium user. Now these email were sent after Titov stipulated that no download data was kept, but it looks fishy.

The “lastdll” field is going to be a hot topic over the coming weeks.

Thank you for this. I was concerned as a paying downloader for quite some time but I see that my immediate cease and desist was a wise decision. Back to torrents with VPN now.

That log records approximately two million downloads per day, and I believe that the log currently contains several hundred million lines. In order to search for downloads of specific users in the log files, Hotfile would have to write a software program to carry out the search.”
