“I’m just stealing software to try it out before I buy a licence.” Sure. This is why I develop software strictly to deliver the service it provides. I never distribute the actual software, because I know it would be stolen and reverse engineered very quickly. Almost as bad as the theft itself is when some stupid nerd tries to justify theft using spurious logic. I hate these thieves and would destroy them if I could. They are the reason I don’t release actual software people might use. I also hate the open source movement and the freeware and “shareware” models. Some programmers are so stupid it makes me want to vomit. Why not just sign up to be my slave if you want to work for free? Go ahead, idiot. Wash my car, paint my house, for “the community” after all. Look on it as an investment in my future, you loser. Better yet, please just crawl into a hole somewhere and die. Scum!

Fact is that now that they’re both gone, others are going to have one Hell of a time picking up where they left off. One thing that remains uncracked is EW’s PLAY engine.

H2O originally emulated eLicenser, and AiR improved on their work (obviously some H2O guys went to AiR).

Regarding the ‘older’ audio groups (OxY, ZONE, Radium etc), I actually have many gigs of their old releases (mainly 2000-2002) on one of my hds for the lulz.

You’re right. IMO “home user” piracy should be allowed. But pirating software you are going to use in company is not and never will be fair and that’s the line I wouldn’t cross.
